And after said closing matinee, I need to finish packing. -I was sort of tempted to delay my return back to NYC by a day, but I really want to get back up to the city. So, if I end up not getting much sleep tonight, well, it will be worth it. I can sleep on the train and/or once I'm back in New York City. :)

And the word of the day is: MORDANT!
Ethan Mordant: Didn't he write all those books about musicals? Or were they merely mordant?

I once knew a total ass of an author with a similar name!

I'm sure. Still, the books are fun to read and argue with. Just finished the Cecil Smith you recommended (well, his half). There's an addendum with everything from "The King and I" to "Sweeney Todd."

Cecil Smith died around 1956. I have the first edition of only his half. It's a good book. He saw the shows. I believe Ass Mordant makes it up.

I'm up and about to finesse.  I had a very rough night and didn't fall asleep until four.  My head was just too jumbled with albums and dates and singers.

Today at  church Pastor announced that on February we will have our first annual Church chili cookoff contest

John G didn't  you  recently judge a chili contest? Do you have any recipes you would care to share?  I have never made chili in my life

but I like a nice medium chili ( not too hot  I mean)

I'd mentioned that I was working at Encores! this past week, but I have no memory of what else I posted! Rob is the musical director for encores! so he generally conducts whatever they've go coming up.

Vixmom, Betsy is making a delicious chili this week, but I'm afraid JohnG would probably disapprove, as it won't have meat and will have beans.  I never knew that Texas chili didn't have beans until I watched that episode of Top Chef:  Texas.

Most theorists do make it up. Sometimes it's based on fact, but as I dig deeper into this horrible degree program, the more I'm convinced that they love the people who make it up.

Clum, who wrote "Something for the Boys," has a factual error on almost every single page, but it's what the doctorate ordered.

I still haven't seen that episode, even though I was there.

And yes, you are correct, no beans, no corn, no tofu, no faux-fu (for the tofu intolerant), no potatoes and for some, no tomatoes, either.

I've participated in church chili cookoffs before, but those don't generally go by any rules. I would just look through a few cookbooks or do some google searches and just make whichever one sounds best to you.

Sunday afternoon greetings!  We are back late from Lima because we had a parishioner to visit in the hospital and a grocery errand to do on our way into town.  I'm about to settle down in my Momcave for a skating and gymnastics program.

I had a very, very unpleasant incident on Thursday, followed by some unexpected and very bad news on Friday. I am still reeling from it. Some of this is fall-out from a very poor economy. I am trying to cope.

I am having a problem with three pdf files for DEAREST ENEMY that I have not had with the other 18 pdf files for the show: my printer refuses to print them! Theylook fine on the computer screen, but when I try to print, they begin a download and then shut down.
