Jane, how did the Paul Gauguin compare to the other cruise ships you have been on?
Funny, I opened HHW with just this thought in mind knowing you would want to know.
To begin with the ship, after our cruise, headed to New Zealand to be refurbished. We doubt as much work that is needed will be done, especially improving the stabilizers on the ship. Happily our favorite area on the ship was the outside area where smokers were permitted. The adjoining bar was very nice & also where a beautiful afternoon English tea was served.
The food was excellent, however after a few days the vegetarian selection didn't vary much. The cookies were exceptionally delicious.
The service was no better than any other ship. For 3 nights we had the same grumpy waiter at dinner until we sat in a different section of the dining room. This cruise is touted as having service beyond the normal cruise & there were several who provided it, beyond that it was nothing special which was disappointing as we expected to be pampered.
More in a few minutes. I have to wash dishes.
