She was the only one in her entire, huge family (11 children plus parents IIRC) who survived the Holocaust.Did she survive the camps or with help from someone? She was the youngest, and her parents pooled whatever little money they had and got her out of Poland or Hungary or wherever they were (can't recall right now). the rest of the family ended up in the camps and perished.Wow!Even all these decades later, such stories just move me beyond words.

The doctor prescribed a new type of lancet to take my blood sugar with. Walgreens forgot to apply the insurance discount and charged me $112. They had to ring up a refund because I was only supposed to pay $35. It just makes me hate the power of insurance companies even more. These are not necessarily prescription items, so you can know that the price is even higher for those just buying them off the shelf.

Your pork chop dish sounds like one I like to make - I like to throw some caraway seeds and rice in there as well

and I like to mix some sour cream in in the sauerkraut when I eat it
Sounds very German to me. No wonder you're Lutheran, Vixmom.
The meat cooked in 90 minutes, according to the thermometer. So, it's suppa-suppa-suppa-time, as Snoopy would sing.
