I dozed more than read until a downpour woke me up.  I rushed to let Sherlock in from the deck, just after Keith let him in.  When I picked up my nook it was 59 degrees outside.

I'm glad it was still nice out when the UPS truck delivered a box of yummy ginger cookies from Bryan.  The driver was telling me that our road was the only road he drove that had any major damage after the rains.  He was rather surprised when he drove on it.  Lucky us.

So, Joshie had a checkup today at the vet. Joshie is very smart. I was very
careful never to say the words that he might understand: vet, carrier, etc. When
he was out of the room, I got the carrier ready and put it on the desk out of
his sight.

Rex is loveable, but dumb. He had such an ordeal recently with his teeth,
surgeries, forced feedings, meds, and every-other-day vet visits.

I was able to just walk up to Joshie, pick him up, and quickly shove him into
the carrier. We were ready to go without any problems! I didn't have to chase
him. I didn't have to move the furniture. I didn't have to try to trap him in
one room. Wow! So easy!

Maybe not.

Whoops!

Thanks, DR George!  This isn't really supposed to be too bad/last too long, but the TV weather folks are trying to manufacture a snowpocalypse before the winter is over.

it doesn't take anything more than a snow flurry warning to sell out the bread and the milk at every grocery store in Washington.

I am back home. Doctor swears he got everything. I go see him next Thursday. Until then, I deal with being sore, which isn't too bad. Strange thing is, my legs are restless. My head is often ready to go, but the middle part is what's driving the cart right now.

Health vibes to DR John G.

Well, I probably could do it alone, but no one would want to read it.

These anit-gay marriage folks here in Washington are a very strange group.  One went on television and actually said, "What next?  Men marrying goats?"

The Rev. Phelps has cancelled the planned picketing for the two boys' funeral tomorrow afternoon.  Not a disappointment.

I think he says they will protest to get attention.  The press should ignore him.

The service tomorrow has been changed so that it will honor not only the two little boys, but their, missing and presumed dead, mother.

I was surprised this hadn't been the original plan-sort of figured it was without mentioning anything to the press.

Thanks, DR Jane!  Rob was a little vague, but he said it's not far from where his work day begins and ends and he's told us before that it takes him about 20 minutes to get there.

Congratulations to Mary Linda.  I thought, at first, that this was going to be a different good news.

Good Evening!

Well... It's been quite an interesting day. Somewhat productive, somewhat leisurely, and, sadly, a bit disheartening. I found out a few hours ago that a friend and fellow musician passed away earlier this afternoon. He was admitted to the hospital last week with some sort of blood infection, which led to total organ failure. He had been in serious but stable condition earlier this week, but... Truly shocked.

Rest In Peace, Phil Mathieu.
