I hate to disagree with dear reader Jeanne, but I do as regards over punctuation in a conversational sentence, where the eye is literally stopped every couple of words - just because someone at some point deemed certain rules correct, doesn't mean one can't obey them in order for a sentence to read in a similar fashion to one speaking it. If you were speaking a sentence, you wouldn't pause for commas - it would sound weird. I'll put them in if it's necessary, but for a line where I don't want the rhythm broken I absolutely will not.
Here's an example. And boy was she sexy. That sentence reads just the way I would speak it. The fix suggested was: And, boy, was she sexy. That, to me and my eye, is just pointless. So, poll - which do you like better - the absolutely correct or the conversational. I happen to think either is correct.
