TOD

no clue - the closest I have come to seeing  ballet movies is White Nights http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0090319/plotsummary and The Turning Point http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0076843/

both of which i enjoyed immensely

I have never seen a live ballet unless you count the Vixter's dance recitals when she was a sprig of a twig of a lass

Good morning, all! I have to step out today and deliver to my accountant the 1099 I never received from my IRA account. After that, I need to stop in Toyland and scan some music to send to Joshie.

After that, back here to continue reconstructing ROBERTA scores. I rceived from Joshie the pdf files of the first 20 numbers in the DEAREST ENEMY vocal score to print out and peruse.

DR Ben, aren't you seeing ONCE tonight?

BK, last night you posted after I mentioned a trip to Baltimore:
So you'll be gone just in time for my visit.  Figures.
Then you posted that you're arriving on March 10! I fail to see how a trip to Baltimore on March 7 or 8 for one day conflicts with your trip to Manhattan. Given that I'm bitter and have no sense of humor, I see no conflict.

Well, I was unable to get onto the site for about 15 minutes: too many connections.

Mikey, the person sitting with Octavia Spencer that you asked about was the director of THE HELP, Tate Taylor.

I quite liked BLACK SWAN. I saw it on the big screen and at least it made a change from cgi and fights and car chases.

TOD:

THE RED SHOES
THE TURNING POINT

I am not a big fan of classical ballet.  It tends to put me to sleep.   However, I do enjoy the modern schools of dance that are evident in the choreography of Martha Graham, Alvin Ailey, Paul Taylor and Twyla Tharp.  And I do like it when choreographers such as Ballenchine and Bourne adapt classical principles to modern staging.
