Back from a fun breakfast with Alet. They're shooting a commercial nearby so they got a permit and have parking on the south side of my street all reserved for themselves for a two and a half block radius. The problem, always, is that they abuse this. When I came back from breakfast every parking space on my side of the street, including in front of my house was taken. There was a security guard who'd just parked his car in the last space in front of my house. I waved him over and told him that they had a specific permit and that that permit was for the other side of the street. This idiot shot me some attitude and told me to call the city, that it was public parking. I parked my car down the street and came back and told him I wanted his name and badge number. He then got contrite when I told him he was not the "public" in "public" parking. He apologized and said he didn't realize I lived here. Then he said, "I'll call my location manager and have him talk to you - I guess you want money." I said, "No, I don't want money I want you to park on the side of the street you have the permit for." He moved his vehicle and I parked, but I knew it was going to make our rehearsal this afternoon difficult.
The location manager came and apologized - he said he didn't know if all those cars belonged to his people, but I told him that non one EVER parks on this street - EVER. So, he assured me he'd have the cars moved (they not only have their permit to park on the south side of the street, they also have a parking lot two blocks away). So far he's been true to his word and at least two cars have moved.
