An Air Supply musical with a Downton Abbey feel. Why does that just not sound right?

Well, 6th place American Idol finishers have to work somewhere.

I would rather they worked at the concession stand.

It looks like my leading man from the EILEEN recording will do the comedy juvenile in this next one, and I think I've got my leading man. I need to confirm my character lead next.

They'd probably make more money.

John Elway is introducing Peyton Manning in Denver.

Maybe you'll get Tebow in return.

Wouldn't that be a hoot!

I feel a visit to the dentist coming on. I'm a year late for my check up and a tooth has suddenly become extremely sensitive to hot liquids.

Buy some toothpaste for sensitive teeth.  It helps me.

I've used that for many years. It's worked until now!

My Mom was nine of nine in her family.  Not only that, but my grandparents took in and raised one of my uncle's "whoops".

Good for them!

Back from the weekly drink and meal with Steve. I had roast beef with all the trimmings again. Fortunately Yorkshire pudding was back on the menu.

I have just started using Sensodyne in an attempt not to have these teeth pulled.  Time will tell.

I used it for years and then switched to the better tasting Colgate.  I think Sensodyne works a little better.

DR derBruce I'm glad you felt very loved.  I don't know any parents with adopted & biological children who love one more than the other based on the child's birth status.

Zef really seems to be settling in. To start he was very stand-offish - he loved playing with Moose, but generally ignored the rest of us. Now he is demanding more and more attention. He follows me all over the house, sits on my feet when I'm trying to put on shoes and socks, and regularly pokes at me to get patted. I'm giving  him "K9 Glucosamine with Chondroitin and Hyaluronic Acid" to help ease his artritic hips. (The damn stuff has to be refrigerated - a dose is two teaspoons which I measure out into a 1/2 cup measuing cup and he happily (thankfully) laps it up ( it does seem to be helping - his "after-hingement" is still clunky, but he does not seem to be uncomfortable).

As our reward, he has now decided we need his protection - so he sits on the side stoop and barks at everything.

I'm very glad to hear Zef is doing so well, not that I expect less now that he has found you & Woody.

The last sentence made me laugh.

I go through stages where I have increased pain & it doesn't help much anymore.  Cutting back on sweet helps with the sensitivity.

For over a year I have been looking forward to going to Bernese Mountain Specialty in Gettysburg.  I just canceled my reservation.  I'm not sure if I'll still be charged for the 2 nights I booked.

Now I have to tell all the people I had planned to hang out with I won't be there. :(

Watching that video on CNN of the 3 year old being patted down in 2010, which people are saying was uncalled for.  It seems the security person is going out of his way to be considerate, and I'm puzzled why people are seeing this as an example of what's wrong with security.

Here's the video
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YNO-AzPxS4U

just looks like someone doing his job, and rather gently.

I would think that if I was a terrorist trying to sneak a bomb aboard a plane, that a darling little boy in a wheelchair would be the perfect place to hide it.

I am going to start with the basic recipe, and add different fruits. I think.

Fruits, nuts, and flakes.....sounds like my kind of people.

Sounds like a number of folks here.

Today is my father's 86th birthday.  Here is a picture of him with his guitar taken a few years ago - I combined it with a picture of his mother and all his brothers and sisters.....he is the baby in his mother's arms.  This picture was about 1928.

His father died of TB in a sanitarium in North Carolina.  He had gone there for very expensive treatments, and once his money was gone, they sent him home.  He owned the general store and lumber mill in Liberty, Kentucky....and was also the local school teacher.

My grandmother sold both businesses but never received her money from the men who took it from her.  She moved to Indiana where her brother and sister had families in the early 1930's.

When he was about eight years old, my father contracted polio.  He had several operations on his legs and used a wheelchair for awhile and then walked on crutches.  He has always walked with a limp.

He and my mother will be married 64 years this September.   ;D

Lovely photo and lovely story.

A reminder of how fortunate we are to live in these times:

TB is fairly rare and treatable on an out-patient basis

I am indeed rare, and apparently quite treatable.

Last week I listened to Philip Roth's "Nemesis," which was about the polio epidemic and the hysteria surrounding it. It's not an era you encounter much any more, and it must have been scary living during the spread of an illness that no one knew the cause or how to prevent it.

I remember when I was quite young, that people still thought that cancer was contagious.

TOD - Muffins, Danish, and pastries (Oh, my) were removed from my diet on August 3, 2010.  I love almond-y bear claws and, in the fall, I have to have just one pumpkin spice doughnut.  One of my all time favorite pastries is the fried Danish from Central Pastry here in Middletown:

Yuck!  They look like small intestines.

The weather today was so warm (high 70s). I was actually too hot on my bike wearing a t-shirt and thin pants i rolled up. Tomorrow is supposed to be high 80s. So i got my shorts out. A lot of people were wearing shorts today.

I even BBQed.

The weather channel said the previous high temp for today was 13.9C (which i think is around high 50s). Today was 24C last time i checked. Crazy weather.
