Last fall my yard guys cut the yard WAY WAY WAY too short when they were supposed to just be sucking up leaves. Now the part of the yard that the idiot who cut it short was working on is all dead.  I watered it this afternoon and bought a bunch of grass seed.  My plan is to wait until the next predicted rainfall and I'll put it down the night before
Mine just died in the drought last year. It's coming back somewhat, but most of the yard is covered in lush weeds. But, hey, they're green.

Oh I feel the same way.  The problem I have is 1/2 my lawn died.  I don't water my grass normally.  I leave it up to the weather.  So, I'm hoping the watering I did today may have some results, but I think I'll be seeding soon

Tomorrow is the first meeting of a new book club.  I think I'm going to like getting to know the women in the club outside of work.  Most if not all are lawyers, all are younger than me. I just hope they pick a better book next time.

I've been watching lots of house hunters this weekend.   I find it so relaxing, lol
I have some friends, Doug and Lori Horn of San Antonio, who are going to be on that show. they were shopping for a vacation place in Connecticut.

Yes. We had a really wet winter and spring has been good, too. So, things are lush and green right now.

Anna Kendrick, an actress I've really liked since "Camp," is the best thing about "50/50," which is sweet but not the "outrageous" movie that the bod led me to think.

Maybe it's the whole way doctors are presented as uncaring nonhumans who think their patients have the same medical vocabulary they do and understand everything they've left unsaid is hitting a little too close to home.

Back from the memorial, which almost went exactly to plan - one person, who told me they weren't sure they wanted to speak because they didn't know if they had much to say, ended up agreeing to speak and instead of the allotted five minutes, did a little over fifteen - it was really the only hiccup - he just couldn't stop.  It was a lovely celebration, mostly consisting of personal anecdotes between speaker and the teacher.  I began with mine, which got really good laughs as I knew it would - it's an anecdote I told in There's Mel.

Then I came home and watched Carnage.  I'm about to watch the pilot episode of the American The Killing - the music for the show is playing over the menu and it's JUST like the music from the Danish version.

The book will be available on Nook and every other reader and site - it hits different places at different times - I guess amazon and Sony got it up quicker.

Well, color me amazed - the music IS the same as the Danish - same composer, Frans Bak - I'm sure they just purchased the score.  As I imagined, the US is but a pale knock-off of the much better original - the casting is sometimes atrocious and the leading lady is a typical American actress of her type and therefore not nearly as interesting as the brilliant Sofie Grabol - knowing where this thing goes, it's not going to get better.

Did lots of things today, and have lots more to do.

The most important was a 2 hour nap.

Waiting for rain.   Otherwise it was a beautiful day for my walk this afternoon.

If gasoline prices ever go down, I might be able to afford to stay here.  If they keep going up, I might have to move closed to work after the summer.

This will be very very sad sad sad move.  :'(

I saw another friend today who was stunned at how much weight I have lost.  I figured it is about 35 pounds, but she thinks it is a lot more than that.

So if my new thinner self was found fast asleep on the front lawn, what movie title would I be?

Slender in the Grass?

I wish they could've recorded the original Broadway cast of Miss Saigon.  Even though Jonathan Pryce and Lea Salonga were on the London cast recording, everyone else is different.
