Thank you for all the vibes.

Our day began concerned about a possible intestinal problem causing Sherlock's fever and ended with a diagnosis of cancer ???

Our first vet sent found his spleen was enlarged and called the specialist.  Combine that with the test results, compared to his recent ones from 6 weeks ago, and the fact he is a Bernese Mountain Dog, the specialist said for us to go right over for the ultrasound.  Liver, slpeen, lymph node & chest show something.  The official report will be in on Monday.

Happy birthday Keith (Saturday).

On the upside Sherlock looks happy & seems fine.  He had a shot of prednisone for inflammation & to reduce the fever and 2 weeks worth in pill form.

:o

Well, power is back, but my printer is now screwed up because of a paper jam - is Mercury still in retrograde because frankly I'm about to take this printer and stomp it into oblivion.  I cleared the jam, which was very difficult for some reason, and now it's saying there's another problem with the print carriage not being free - whatever the hell that means.

I found some Oscar Mayer American style bacon in my local supermarket today. Never seen it in the U.K. before. I'll try it out over the weekend.

Careful, it can be quite addicting

I had a student from the local college's paralegal program call me twice asking if she could do her internship in my office.  It's an unpaid thing that they get college credit for.   After the second call and the fact I'm feeling so overwhelmed, I decided to call her back.  She came to the office immediately to meet us and by 10:00 this morning we all agreed that she would be a good fit for an internship.  She's very interested in criminal law and Edith really only works on my immigration cases, so with the current workload, she'll at least be a short term godsend.

We just finished watching WITNESS w/Harrison Ford.

Excellent movie!

They don't make them like that any more.
I loved that when I saw it recently. I had forgotten how good it was. Did you spot a very, very young Viggo Mortensen in a tiny role?

Spent the last two hours finishing up another paper. I hope I can get the rest of the work for this semester done soon. But first, rest. Night, all.

I was so irritated from the power outage and the printer thing (which finally worked again) that I went and ate food, something I rarely do after my meal o' the day.  But tonight I didn't give a flying Wallenda - at lunch I had an omelet and a bagel, so not too much.  Tonight I had chicken tenders and some cole slaw.  It made me feel better.  When I arrived at Jerry's and entered, the lights were off.  Yes, they'd had their own outage, about thirty minutes' worth - the lights came back on as I was seated at my table.
