I think Bernadette's award is the biggest consolation prize on the list since she didn't get nominated.

I love that Jessie Muller was remembered for "On a Clear Day ..." The clips I saw of her were wonderful.

Dan the Man, I've given up buying Wildhorn albums, but I may give in and at least listen to selections of this one online. The reviews, even from people who hate his work, are really saying nice things about the score.

To me, the biggest surprise of the nominations was the lack of a nomination for "One Man, Two Guvnors" for best play. I guess Michael Riedel doesn't have the clout he thinks he has.

Did that HARVEY revival open?  I don't recall reading or hearing a word of it.

Thanks for the RAINBOW report DR BEN.

DR DOUG R thanks for the reply.....the recording session in Prague must have been most interesting and entertaining.

Tuesday morning greetings!  It's about 40 degrees warmer here than it was when we left our Michigan hotel yesterday morning.

I'm off for lunch with the grantwriters today, along with some Dayton errands.

What Goes Around Department:

LONDON -- Rupert Murdoch is "not a fit person" to exercise stewardship of a major international company, a committee of British pols have concluded.

The politicians' report is highly critical of the tycoon and his son's role in the News of the World phone-hacking affair.

The culture, media and sport select committee said that James Murdoch, until recently executive chairman and chairman of News International and BSkyB, showed wilful ignorance of the extent of phone hacking during 2009 and 2010.

I wonder what the Murdoch ruling will mean. Some have said it will lead to his losing his license to practice, but the stories I've read haven't been that explicit.

Ruling may not be the right word. Report is probably more like it.

Holy Crap Department:  the arborists/tree service are/is here and are chopping away at branches to open up our view.  One of the guys threw a rope over a branch from our deck and then swung out to the tree.  I am sweaty just watching them.

Maybe he's trying out for the Tony nominated "Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark."

That was a surprise, but not as much a surprise as Bonnie and Clyde getting a nomination for Best Score. Laura Osnes as Best Actress in a Musical is not so surprising, she's a wonderful actor and from what I hear (I didn't see the show) she was a saving grace in the production but Best Score?!?

Thanks for that info, DR Ben.  Shows how out of touch I've been with the scene, lately.  My excuse is...I'm in tech!

I'm up - I woke up and had a little allergy problem at three-thirty - finally fell asleep again at five.  Very groggy now but not groggy enough to say Leap of Faith, perhaps the worst-reviewed musical of the season, is up for Best Musical?

Ya, when I lived in the apartments on 12th street there was an arborist around a lot, and he always made me sweaty too.

TOD:  Bon Bons-- the bite sized chocolate covered ice cream treats

Those were good.  That last time I had them I was disappointed.  I like the butterscotch sundaes.  My favorite candies were Butterfingers & Mild Dud's.

I think it got better  reviews than "Ghost" or "Spider-Man," but I guess the nominators were not going to go with the closed "Lysistrata  Jones," which did get  better reviews.

I think Ghost and Spider-Man and Leap of Faith all got similar reviews, but Leap of Faith seemed to be more across the board bad.  Maybe not, though.
