That sounds like fun. BTW, BK, what is the theme of the upcoming show? I seem to have forgotten it.

One of LEAP OF FAITH's producers is a Portlander and the Oregonian was "kind" enough to do a huge sidebar feature on the show's blistering reviews.

Our new, improved view is nothing short of spectacular.  On the one sunny day a year here we'll be able to see Mt. St. Helens!!

Ghost, the Musical and Spiderman, Turn Off the Dark actually got Tony nominations. Not for Best Musical, but they still got nominations. Wow!

And Godspell got NOTHING!!!

Very surprised that Bernadette wasn't nominated for a Tony this year.

It took me a long time to do this, mostly do to fear.  When I was 12 I had the hard contacts that hurt like heck so I developed a fear of putting them in.  The early soft contacts were extremely floppy & rolled under a lot.

I do believe she is receiving a special honor.  Which she deserves - As is Hugh Jackman, for what special honor I have no idea.

Maybe for the movie version of Les Misérables. ::)

Holy Crap Department:  the arborists/tree service are/is here and are chopping away at branches to open up our view.  One of the guys threw a rope over a branch from our deck and then swung out to the tree.  I am sweaty just watching them.
Maybe he's trying out for the Tony nominated "Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark."

That was a surprise, but not as much a surprise as Bonnie and Clyde getting a nomination for Best Score. Laura Osnes as Best Actress in a Musical is not so surprising, she's a wonderful actor and from what I hear (I didn't see the show) she was a saving grace in the production but Best Score?!?

I just read that "Peter and the Starcatcher" (the play) only has two songs and underscoring, yet it was nominated for "Best Original Score (Music and/or Lyrics) Written for the Theatre."

I'd also read that "Once" couldn't be nominated for Best Score because it all came from the movie.  I wonder how much had to be new for "Newsies" (or any other show based on a movie musical) to be eligible?

Seminar

which opened with Alan Rickman (who was recently replaced by Jeff Goldblum) and received no Tony nominations will be closing on Sunday.

I expect some more closing notices will be posted over the next few days.

P&TS is a play with music. It's not a musical. It's quite wonderful and deserving of all the good press. Since Once is not eligible I hope that P&TS wins Best Score.

I loved ONCE, which I saw at the New York Theater Workshop...
but, I'm rooting for Danny Burstein to win this year...his performance in Follies blew me away.
