They spelled your name wrong, and the ending of the video is a little weird,

but otherwise this harmonizing on "Happy birthday Danise" is really cool!

Thank you so much DR FJL--that was COOL!

Happy Birthday, DR Danise!  Don't forget to nmake a wish!
Thank you too DR Kerry.  I bought myself a slice of chocolate cake last night to have with dinner.  I'm thinking about going out to Olive Garden or just getting some wings from Beef O'Brady's and kicking back.

What a nice surprise!  You were smart to call.  It also demonstrates something I learned a long time ago from my Mom.  She threw away, unopened, an envelope from a mortgage company thinking it was a payment reminder.  She had second thoughts and fished it out of the trash, opened it, and found a similar check inside.

DR Danise, please buy yourself a special birthday present with your windfall!

I can also encourage you good people to check things that look like real, actual junk mail -- which is how many product manufacturer rebates come these days.  You go to all the trouble to document, photocopy, fill out, kiss, mail, postmark, etc. ... then it takes so long for the things to process that you completely forget there's $10 or $30 or whatever coming back to you on some purchase.  Then one day you get one of those crappy looking little card-stock things that looks for all the world like just another advertisement, an "offer" for reduced mortgage rates, or whatever... but you open it, and there's yer thirty smackers.

This is how They get you.

Yup....and you are lucky if you get the FULL amount.  Sometimes my rebate has been reduced for one reason or another.

You know if any of you cretins would bother to read my posts, you would have had your friggin' answer about DOWNTON ABBEY and edits months ago.  :)

LOL....DR JMK.....I think you can only be certain that the person who asked the question did not read your post.

$100 spending vibes for DR DANISE.....this is money to be spent on yourself.....you already spent it on a bill, and it was returned to you!

And for your convenience the bastards have put it on a "Pre-Paid Debit or Visa card" with all sorts of fees and regulations attached. I don't buy things that have a "rebate" attached. If you're going to screw me with the price, don't tell me. Rebates are bullsh*t. If you can afford to send me $10 on a wasteful piece of plastic encoded with all sorts of other crap, then you can afford to sell the product for $10 less outright you greedy SOBs!

End of rant

Thanks, DR Ginny and Jrand--I do always open the mail, junk or otherwise but like you I hate it when I get a "check" but if I cash it it means I'm signing up for some service, etc.  That is really underhanded.

That's why I called.  I also have a problem with the doctors office undercharging me for things and then I get a bill in the mail for the amount they refunded me.  That really ticks me off but I called to make sure and they said it was my insurance company who sent it back.  If the insurance company doesn't know what their own copayments are then I give up.

TOD - I love omelettes and the best one I've ever had was at Sarabeth's Kitchen on Central Park South before our walk through Central Park and the Upper East Side with DR Jose.

My dental check-up was uneventful, with no need to return until November for another one!

DR Ginny, I also have a check-up and cleaning this afternoon (I might spring for the oral cancer screening, too.)  While I'm not looking forward to the aching gums I generally have after a cleaning, I do like the nifty 80's music my dentist plays in his office.

Good morning, all! It was another night of peculiar dreams: I was walking down Broadway in a bathrobe and socks wondering why the day's mail hadn't arrived; something about travel; several dreams about visiting my friends Arie and Kevin, who now live in Amsterdam; in one dream they were still living in DC and dealing with a rather crazy neighbor, an awful dog, and a cherry tree, and in another we were in London at the BBC, where Arie bought 400 books and I spilled coffee.

Today, I have a trek to Toyland: I will meet Curtis there to learn how to accomplish something on my computer. I have a couple of scores to proof and some ROBERTA materials to scan while I'm there. Tonight, I'm turning over the remainder of THE ONLY GIRL scores, and it's out of my hair for now. Excellent!

BK, I'm glad last night's event went well. For some reason, I was thinking it was tonight. Oy!

Isn't there song about that - big black dog and a cherry tree??

While I was out and about last night, I found chocolate licorice

It is always nice to find a special birthday treat like this. :)
