Brain is mush. Twenty-one pages is enough. Night, all.

Happiest of birthdays to DR Sam, who thinks I'm cute  ;)

Ginny, are you thinking of DR Samantha?  It was actually her birthday yesterday

And the word of the day is: UNGULATE!

And The Song Of The Day Is:  BABY ELEPHANT WALK

Are there lyrics to this? I've never heard them before if there are

If you feel like joining a safari
Don't get dressed for going on a cruise,
the thing, to carry
Is an extra pair of dancing shoes
Go to the jungle
and see the animal attraction
Baby Elephants in action walk.

And so on

Tomorrow I will cut down a tree that is about 4 inches in diameter. It's pretty tall so I'll have to be careful not to hit the garage.  It really needs to come down now.  It's growning into a big old tree and there isn't room for both in the same spot.

Speaking of GRIMM, I wnder if its success along with ONCE UPON A TIME are behind the fairy tale theme fro this year's Broadway Bares?

I wouldn't doubt it...HERE is a link to Playbill.com's Preview Gallery. :D

For the past few years (I can't begin to remember for how  long), I have been working on a cookbook of Mom's recipes. There were questions on so many. She'd have ingredients listed but no directions  (or vice versa).

Well, yesterday I remembered that she turns 85 this July, so I have decided to finish this cookbook. I've roped in some friends to do the copy editing after me. And the fun begins again in earnest.

Is this a cookbook for the internet, or an actual hardcover or paperback book?
It will be a real book, self-published, but something you can hold. Going to talk next week with two different people to handle it, including the company that does BK's books.

That sounds great, John!  Good luck!

What a coinkydink!  Last night, I was watching a marathon of "How It's Made" on the Science channel and they showed how a chainsaw was made.

Back from the staged reading of Come Back, Little Sheba.  I'd love to see a first-class revival of this where the actors have enough rehearsal time and with a brilliant cast.  Faith Prince would be great to lead that revival - she's wonderful and with only one rehearsal.

Topic of the Day (what I can think of):

Domenico Scarlatti: Sacred Choral Works.  The whole CD...I'm on it! :D

Maurice Duruflé: Requiem.  I just listened to this recording at work yesterday and it's absolutely beautiful.  We did it when I was going to Western Washington University and fell in love with it.

Carl Orff: Carmina Burana.  We also did this when I was at Western.  This was the very first CD that I ever owned.

BK, Thursday I was so exhausted from driving all over town that I came home around six or so, fell asleep reading and did not get up till ten that evening when the phone rang.  Friday I had to see my friend Pat (whom you may remember from the memorabilia shows) and then an early night to catch my plane on Saturday.  I'm home now after spending twelve hours or so in various states of transit.  But I got to spend probably more time with you than anyone (even Larry who I was staying with, but didn't see all that much of).  Three terrific meals and your great cabaret show!  We were so happy you came to Cat & Fiddle and got to see Julieanne.  I've decided LA is a nice place to live, but I wouldn't want to visit there.  The driving is worse than when I lived there and the parking has become torturous.  Am listening to the sublime Genghis Kahn and the latest edition of your scribblings now grace the other volumes of the Bruce Kimmel memorial library on a shelf all their own.
