I don't think I've ever known it to be so cold in mid May.

So strange.  We've had summer weather for at least 2 months now.

The other day I set the air conditioner. Only 164 more days of summer!

I am also thrilled that the stress level at work is finally getting a lot better.  I'm doing a lot this month to recharge and it starts day after tomorrow.  Since I've been to busy to even spend time catching up and learning, I'm going to enjoy sitting in a class room with no interruptions and just spend time learning.

And, since this is the second trip to Memphis, I know a great place for breakfast, I know where and how to get on the trolleys etc.   I do think I'll head to the World Championship Barbeque cooking contest for the people's choice tasting.  I did it last year and got a really cool certificate in the mail a couple months later that thanked me for being a judge. I'd like another of those to hang in my kitchen.

When I was in college I was working on my hot air balloon pilot license.  I love to fly in balloons.  It's been years now.  I had a friend who owned one and was in the hot air balloon club at the University of Iowa.

I didn't get sick the one time I went in a hot air balloon, at least as long as I didn't look straight down.

I'm getting excited about going to Memphis this week.  Cat/house sitter is lined up.  I signed up for a riverboat cruise one night of the meeting. It's a two hour cruise with barbeque, chinese food and live music.  I've never done the paddleboat thing, so I'm looking forward to that.  I think i'm going to try to find time to go to Graceland this time.

The river activities sound like fun.

I feel so bad for Keith.  As hard as this is for me I think it is twice as bad for him.  I got Sherlock for him, and let him do most of the work.  They bonded from the very first moment they met.

I cleared away some lawn and transplanted the grass into another part of the yard that was looking patchy and Vixdad helped me build a little wall out of landscaping ties

then the Vixter  decided to build herself a little vegetable garden so she cleared away another small section of lawn and she and vixdad built a little wall for her garden and she planted a dozen tomato plants

JRand -I had a dream that I was at a sleepover with my cousin and her sister-in law, and her sister-in-laws two daughters -  the sleepover was at my aunt's house - we were all the age we are now although my aunt's house was decorated and it was when I was a child

suddenly a dog came into the room and took my right hand into his mouth (right up to the wrist)  He didn't hurt me but  I was unable to remove my hand from his mouth

and then I woke up

any thoughts?

I miss my cat.

The other day, somebody offered me a cat.

But, I don't really miss having a cat.

I miss MY cat.

Um, this is page six.  Maybe "One Fish, Two Fish" would be the better book to stage.  ;)

The page proofs for the book came in tonight. I made it through 20 pages and my brain is giving up on me. I've got through Sunday. Need to finish that, finish my last paper, make it through the food-wine festival this week (only going to give events), work more on Mom's cookbook and do my 9-5 job. Sleep and exercise have been placed on hold.
