I met my friend this morning to see "The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel." I really loved it! Judi Dench, Maggie Smith, Bill Nighy, Penelope Wilton (Dame Maggie's nemesis on "Downton Abbey) are all great!

Back from "Gypsy" which was damned good. Sadly, the establishment worships at the altar of total amplification so that NOW EVERYTHING SOUNDS LIKE THIS. It sounds to me like they've got a quality system, but everything IS TURNED UP TO 11 AND THERE IS NO NUANCE OR RELIEF WHATEVER.

Greetings from Times Square! Our flight was smooth and we arrived here at our hotel exactly 12 hours from when we left home this morning. Going to the Dayton airport from our house by way of Lima is kind of the long way around...

We went to the 3D showing of THE AVENGERS as the time was convenient. It was interesting in 3D but I also found it distracting. I still think HUGO was the movie to have seen in 3D.

There was a preview of the new 3D FRANKENWEENIE that had me crying. It begins with the boy telling his mother he didn't want to keep his dog in his heart, he wanted the dog back. We didn't need to see that.

Probably, DR ChasSmith! In fact, we have friends from home leaving tomorrow morning on a bus trip that won't get them here until midday Tuesday. They're staying overnight in Chester, PA. They'll be in the city for about 48 hours and leave Thursday afternoon, stay in Chester, and get home Friday
