DR Ginny---true. That earthquake was quite a shock.
No pun intended.

So strange to see a notice for "earthquake restoration" in Washington, D.C., DR Ginny.

Yes, DL Iris, they were telling us at church that they didn't have earthquake insurance and the National Cathedral didn't, either.  Who'd have thought they'd need it?
I loved the "Bird Proofing" part of it.

And I liked "See What I Wanna See".

I like parts of "See" and I really like much of "The Wild Party," which I know is scorned by others here, and a couple of songs from "Marie Christine."

Not the Opera News article.

Staying at a hotel close to the airport ready for early morning flight. First hotel I've been to where you check in automatically at a screen which prints out all details andissues a room key card.

I just had a visit from the charming and delightful DR / DD Ann.  I had to send her an e-mail asking if she could possibly go and pick up my pain pills for me.  She  very sweetly did just that.  My other friend ( who llives about a block and a half from the pharmacy) informed me that she was no longer available to help me on weekends.  Oh well.

Arrowhead water bottles are a lot like Weebles; except they wobble and sometimes do fall down.

Concert report cont'd:  Jan Horvath and George Dvorsky sang "Another Opening...," and a short Irving Berlin medley and "You're Not Sick, You're Just in Love."  It was funny when Jan sang the line "put your head on my shoulder"--George had to really lean down to do that--I think he's about 6'4" tall.

Jan sang "I'm a Brass Band" and "If They Could See Me Now" and George sang "All I Care About is Love."  Their solo showstoppers were "Don't Cry for Me Argentina" and especially "Bring Him Home."

Which one sang which?

Since 1914?  That seems a long time for a restoration.

The string parts are going slowly; I'm checking page turns and all sorts of nonsense, so they're taking more time. I hope I can leave here in another hour.

Why did it niot occur to me how small 8 oz. bottles of Arrowhead water would be?  No wonder I got such a great price on a twelve pack.  I have chess pieces that are bigger thann these water bottles.

Cleaned up the deck and grill and all that good stuff.  Even rearranged and restacked the firewood racks for summer.  Today was much nicer than yesterday, but tomorrow the temperature is shooting up -- and with it the humidity, I have little doubt.

We have almost completed the shopping for Zach's incipient trip to China in a couple of weeks.  The shopping list is quite odd.  They don't want the kids to bring any cotton clothing since they want stuff to be able to dry quickly.  Finding non-cotton t-shirts has been quite the adventure.

Interesting.  It sounds like he will be hand washing all of his clothes.

We are still here.  We went into town today and out to lunch.  We went to a restaurant which doesn't permit dogs & then walked in the dog unfriendly park along the creek.

When we first planned to go to the graduation we were going to take Craig with us.  Then we asked him to stay home with Sherlock instead, and to avoid getting a pet sitter with Yogi here.  Now I suppose we could have taken Craig.  It is just as well we didn't get him a ticket as the company that gives him consulting work had some for him.

I just found it odd that they would expect people to buy a whole new wardrobe to take a trip.  I could see them suggesting certain things. But having them buy all new t-shirts seems a bit much.

It has been a quiet day here....and hopefully another quiet day tomorrow.

I hope we get a report from DR GINNY on the Wild West KMK.

That doesn't surprise me.  The year Bryan went away to camp I think the supplies cost almost as much as the camp did.  Heck, if the kid had non cotton t-shirts he wouldn't need to purchase any ;)

ANOTHER eBook became available at the library.  If I start over with the queue there will be 43 people ahead of me.  I didn't expect this book for another couple of weeks, yet the one I expected hasn't come in yet.  ::)
