I have been to the vampire's lab for a blood test.  They tried to tell me that I wasn't due for a retest for 2 weeks, but I told them that my doctor's office told me to have it as soon as I returned from vacation.  They had to call the office to get a new order.  Like it's so much fun, I'd go in more often than absolutely necessary...

Dr's appointment made, and I'm waiting now for the phone call from the printing company about paper. I also spoke to my adopted son Joshie, who had a good weekend away from Manhattan. He got home last night just as the downpour began. I will see him tomorrow when I go in to pick up the two horn parts.

Minneapolis sounds so much more civilized! Coon Rapids spinds like some horrible area of Appalachia. Or Franklin, OH!

My friends who were flying to Italy a few days before me have gotten stuck in D.C., all due to errors from United. I'm flying Delta, which I hope is better for me.

My question for ASK BK day - what was the NAME of your telephone exchange when you were growing up?

I had two - first LYceum 7 and then the one I still have VErnon 1....although it is now 831.

CEdar

My best friend, who lived about three miles away, was CHurchill.

Both out of Greenville SC.

Which sets did you get, DR JMK?

Well, I already have Happiness Is. . . (a story about that in a mo).

Yesterday, I got Love is Blue and Popular Music Hit Parade.

Re:  Happiness Is. . .  I got sucked into this because I had been searching for Hank Levine albums after having gotten the latest volume of the "Every pop instrumental hit" series, this one for 1961.  That in turn led me to a YouTube page which had a Levine arrangement of "Feelin' Groovy", ostensibly from a Reader's Digest set called Up, Up and Away. . .with the Happy Hits of Today.  When searching for that on eBay, all that came up was another RD set, called Happiness Is. . .Up, Up and Away with the Hits of Today.  Isn't that odd?

I am glad at least one other person found that particular section of that quote hilarious.   ;D

Right now I am listening to a somewhat hilarious Stanley Black 2-fer CD where he was aping Enoch Light's "percussion" albums.  Great goofy fun.

It was between that and the Divan Orchestra DR JMK.

I imagined the musicians reclining on fainting couches while recording.

You're telling me! And since it's in Crazy Eyes (Michelle Bachmann) congressional district it's gone even further to hell.

Good morning, all  I stayed up too late watching tv, so I slept in until 7:30, since this is a day when I don't venture too far from the apartment.

I have phone calls to make this morning, one about a colonoscopy and one to Joshie,

Don't get the two calls mixed up.

We also had two.  Proctor 7 was the first and Skyline 9 was the second.  I still have a Skyline 9 number, but it is now 759-.

The actual real numbers are in the Kritzer books, but it was first TExas, which changed to UPton in the early 1960s.
