Thanks, DRs John G, JMK, and ChasSmith, for the vibes for Amy.  She's been posting on Facebook ever since the accident, so that's encouraging.

About a year ago, in Atlanta, I had coffee with one of my Facebook Vera Bradley friends, Amy.  She wiped out yesterday on her bicycle and is hospitalized with a broken jaw, lacerated chin, a skull fracture, and brain swelling.  And, yes, she was wearing a helmet!  Vibes for her would be appreciated.

Good mornng, all! The big question today is whether or not I will hear from the plumber and super about this leak. I've adjusted my schedule so that I can spend today and tomorrow here; I've plenty of work so that's no problem. I just don't want this thing dragging out. I've too much else to deal with beyond waiting for the crew to fix this leak.
I can't figure out where my bathroom leak is coming from. It's intermittent and doesn't seem related to any running of water. I have a maintenance contract for plumbing emergenies but I don't know if this qualifies as an emergency.

Doug, since you were 50 miles from London yesterday, I guess I don't have to ask if you saw the Queen.  Are you going to the concert tomorrow night?   ;)

That Kritzerland show sounds so great.  It's unfair -- unfair, I tell you -- that we east coasters can't just click on something to see it ourselves.

Not to mention...a Don Knotts impersonation!!!????

No. I don't like crowds or that sort of concert. I expect I'll watch bits of it on TV.

Thank you, DR Doug R!  I'd been thinking about dusting off my bike and helmet and doing some riding myself.  However, with all the blood thinners I'm on, injuries like Amy's could be fatal for me.  Think I'll stick to studio cycling at the Y...

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Vibes for DR Ginny's friend Amy! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~I just finished writing the section on Samuel Lover's novel and subsequent comedy Rory O'More, and now I have to finish reading the libretto for EILEEN before I can accurately write a synopsis.
You mean they aren't calling it the George and Ira Gershwin's PORGY AND BESS?
Update on my friend Amy - the neurosurgeon has released her, meaning no closed-head injury, but now they've discovered a torn knee ligament and bone chip.
Gosh that is terrible about your friend DR Ginny. Was she hit by a car or did she hit something? I can't imagine that much damage  from just feeling.
