The Broadway cast recording of "Once" is one of the 100 albums for $5 this month on Amazon.

Morning all.  It's 6:07 AM here as I type this.  I had a Doctor appt last night and didn't get home until almost eight thirty.  Then there was all the news on FB about the new baby.  I'm a great, great Aunt again!

There were only 2 of us in the waiting room so the lady and I started talking.  Turns out we both work for the county--and when it came around to who we work for (she works for the Clerk of CC in the accounting dept) she said she knew my boss and that she is "the worst" and "she takes micro managing to a new all time lower level."  I had to agree.  I find that most people who know her are just glad they don't have to work for or with her.

When I told her about us doing payroll she couldn't believe it.  She said the same thing that I've said all along--"Doesn't she know your working out of tittle?"

She told me a bunch of horror stories from other people who have worked for her in the past.  At least I know that it isn't me.  Some people should never be made supervisors.

That's my rant for the day.

TGIF!!!!  Vibes to all who need them and have a wonderful day!!!

Last night's opening night of CLUE: THE MUSICAL went very well with MANY people in attendance.....about 157 - which is 2/3rds of a house....and tonight there are only 10 tickets left on the book....so they should have a great audience.

And the audience was very enthusiastic, even though Mr Boddy messed up one of the clues....oh well.

It looks like we will have a good run!

Except, alas, for we who will be here.  I have the most wonderful memories of the Nuart, mostly from the 1970s, and would give anything to be there for this tonight.

Full report, please.  Pictures!  Videos!  We want it all.

TOD:

DVD: "The Hound of the Baskervilles" Russian TV adaptation. I don't know what to make of this. Dialogue is very true to the original and Dr Watson is well cast but some of the performances are a bit odd, with too much humour given to the characters. Locations look nothing like England which strains credibility and there's an overall gloominess in the interior settings.  Good efforts have been made to include English language newspapers, street signs etc. I'll say it is "interesting" and leave it at that.

Blu-ray: Blue Velvet. I got the American version which contains more extras than the version available here in the U.K. It came in one of those awful eco cases full of holes, which I instantly threw away and replaced with a solid Amaray case; a stock of which I keep for this purpose!

There's something about that poster for LURE OF THE SWAMP posted by MBarnum which makes me want to see the film!  Pity it's not on DVD.

Good morning, all! I will shortly head down to Social Security and see if this time it takes. I cannot wait to get money back from the government!

I know I had more weird dreams - the last had something to do with Miami University Theatre students, and I remember Mary Templeton, a friend I've not seen in 40 years.

Following Social Security, I will be off to Toyland and I will hopefully finish up my taping. I have a late afternoon appontment to look over some scores at Rodgers & Hammerstein and then I will go to dinner with Bruce Pomahac.

CD -- The Weill album DR Elmore had recommended -- not heard yet due to the distractions of yesterday, but it's in the player, waiting.

Blu-ray -- "Don't Look Now", UK release, because we don't have it at all on Blu-ray, and the old US DVD is bare bones without the extra features, commentary, etc.

I saw a really interesting documentary many years ago about the inhabitants there and their little post office with the cancellation stamp that earns them a lot of money.  (Or at least did back in the day).

In other news, the buyers have completed their final walkthrough, their loan documents are at the title company and we are set to sign next Thursday.  They don't get their keys until Friday and we probably won't get our money until Monday.
