Was it still alive? I usually smash them with rocks. Although I probably wouldn't do that in a restaurant.

DR DRUXY - for some reason I thought LOMBARD was in Fort Wayne in February....I am glad it is June!

Me, too.  I assume the weather will be better.

It's Father's Day.  Happy Day to the Father's on our board.  Happy Father's day to those who may be Uncles, Cousins, teachers, etc - those who do our best to aid in the raising of young people.

After reading Ben Brantley's review of Long Day's Journey Into Night in London, I must call my parents this Father's day and thank them for being rather pleasant as parents during my and my brother's formative years

 ;D

I'm sure they will appreciate you had a happy childhood.

Not 100% that, but my parents were always part of the solution to any tsouris rather than part of any tsouris.  :)

Then you are very lucky indeed!

Went to the pool today with my niece. It's the first time we've gone this summer (first weekend it's open).

:)

Last night I finished reading Gardner's THE SURVIVOR'S CLUB and liked it very much.  Now I only have her last book to read.

We went to our neighbor's this afternoon for wine/beer and appetizers.  We sat on her patio in the shade with a view of the lake and a nice cool breeze to keep us comfortable.  It was very nice.

Making ribs w/espresso bbq sauce, some quinoa/rice thing. grilled corn on the cob and grilled tomatoes topped with white sharp cheddar cheese.   Wonder if the DP will ever return from work.

For Danise....after the makeover

That was part of the problem I had with the makeover.  I didn't think our faces would be shiny.

Such shiny faces. ;D

DR Danise I've had a number of makeovers and can't ever remember walking out with a shiny face.  I've walked out looking like a hooker or Tammy Fay Baker.  I'll take shiny over those any day.

It might have been too tranquil had I continued to drink the delicious wine ;)

Made an herb-crusted chuck roast for dinner with celery, cabbage, carrots and daikon roasted at the bottom, a salad with herbs from the garden and a finely aged bottle of red. Cherries for dessert.

I just read this headline:
"Plague Confirmed in Oregon Man Bitten by Stray Cat"

The story states the man was bitten while trying to take a dead rodent out of the cat's mouth.  It didn't explain WHY he was doing that.

Yes that was when he was still a regular poster - and the Delaware boys were still regulars

Well, of course you have to use the RIGHT rock, one should never EVER  use a mussel rock when smashing crawdads and vice versa
