THERE'S NO PLACE LIKE HOME

Well, you've read the notes, the notes were like home, and now it is time for you to post until the cows come home - after all, there's no place like home, even to a cow.

Good Morning.  Vibes to all who need/want them. Sorry I pooped out on you last night.  Just got one of those waves of tiredness and felt like I needed to lay down right away.

Before I go...Just wanted to tell Jane that I do think the Hypnotherapy is helping.  I feel calmer inside but it is almost part of what is making me realize that I am not happy with where I am.  I'm working on that--applying for anything I can find to get me away from this job and just hoping to find a happy group to work with again.

Had to turn in my performance evaluation yesterday.  I didn't say anything on the advise of my counselor but did point out that helps when the supervisor sets the example.  My PE had 2 errors on it.  Were it up to me, I would have overlooked them because I know people make mistakes but since I work in a department where every mistake must be accounted for performance measures, I felt I had to point them out.

Good morning, all! Last night I dreamed I was working with Dame Judi Dench on something. It was a really good dream.

Ay 9:30 I have an appointment with Dr Moazed to examine my eyes. I like him, but he works slowly, meaning I could be there all the damned day waiting, and I have to deal with drops in my eyes, which means I'll be wandering about blindly for most of the day after that. After the appointment, I must needs head back here to prepare all of the liner note material for what will be a looooong phone conversation with the Man from Philadelphia. I am not looking forward to it.

I just got an email from the producers in Dublin that they need vocal scores for the soloists. This is really frustrating since, weeks ago, I sent them pdf files of everything for the singers under the assurance that pdfs were sufficient and the music could be printed out by each singer. Well, no. And this becomes another glitch that could have been taken care of when I shipped the chorus books a month ago. This is not amusing and not the week for it. Color me pissed.

As soon as this office transfer and move is accomplished, I am find an ntern.

We are supposed to get hot summer weather beginning tomorrow.

According to different sites it will be between 94 and 97!

It's been beautiful the past few days. I don't deal well with hot weather. I will be hunkered down in the bedroom with the AC blasting. I will be reading

Dazzler - The Life and times of Moss Hart by Steven Bach

TOD: I'm glad you mentioned a film of "The Wayward Bus." I enjoyed the Steinbeck novel and never knew a movie had been made. I will certainly have to look for it.

Evil Under the Sun
Gosford Park
The Thin Man

I guess murder mysteries seem to bring all sorts of people together.

Good morning, all.

That does it.  I'm watching THE WAYWARD BUS this evening.  It sounds perfect.

Not looking forward to what some are calling the "mini" heat wave.  I do hope it's mini, but usually those things settle in and stay longer than forecast.

TOD

Murder mysteries, yes, there are quite a few that would qualify.  I immediately thought of AND THEN THERE WERE NONE.  And some horror films.  But groups of disparate people brought together involving a mode of transportation are just special, and I'd like to know some others for my own viewing enjoyment.  So, let me think......

Does THE LADY VANISHES qualify, or does that focus on just a couple of people?  Haven't watched it in forever, but will be doing so sometime soon.

DR GINNY - vibes for today, and from your photograph, I think you got your new equipment JUST IN TIME.....

Tuesday morning greetings!  Scott (our nephew by marriage) and his brother Rob are not here yet, but I've showered, dressed, and moved my car.  I have to leave in a couple of hours to pick up my Mom for her tests.

LOL, yes, DR JRand!  The furnace is original to the house, so we're guessing it's almost 60 years old.  We knew it was just a matter of time and that we'd have to replace it in order to sell the house someday.  Since the AC has to be replaced NOW, we decided to do the works and enjoy it.  Better now than some January when it's cold and our driveway is icy and we don't have heat.

TOD - I think THE BIG CHILL falls into this category.  The irony is that they all think they know each other based on being in college together (Michigan - Go, Blue!), but as they spend the weekend after their friend's funeral together their differences are revealed.  Then, in the end, they seem to come back together.  One of my favorite movies!

The quail family is outside now. There seem to be three sets of quail that come. One with chicks, and two pair without any chicks.

The listserve for Portland actors is atwitter because a casting agent for a film posted an ad for a woman who could portray a supporting role that's "eye candy".  Umbrage has been taken.

There has also been an ongoing controversy about whether work for hire should be 1099 or W2.  One of the most vocal participants is a woman who singlehandedly put an end to the arts series I hosted because she filed for unemployment after having done a one night gig for us.
