Question for the group: My friend Bonnie and I have this food website that's largely local to San Antonio. Should we take political ads? Except for food politics, we have stayed out of that arena. I know we have a politically mixed base of readers, so would suddenly running ads for candidates on either side of the issues be a problem?

For certain Doubting Thomases who question the reach of the site I work for, this graph may prove instructive.  :)  I believe the quantitative data is in hundreds of thousands of unique visitors a day.

hometheaterforum used to be brilliant but they made the mistake of completely changing the appearance which ruined it and they stuck loads of adverts on the site. It became cumbersome to post on - and still is to a certain extent. Many regular posters simply drifted off.

Yesterday DR George wrote:

I didn't watch the last episode of "Fringe," because I wanted to watch tonight's "Kathy."  Her special guest is the one and only (and close personal friend of DR Danise) Anderson Cooper!  He's very funny with her and obviously likes her.

I was wondering if you knew how many episodes had aired of Kathy.  It is on Friday nights here. And i saw what i think was the first episode (last friday or the friday before). I love her. But i didn't really enjoy the show (the way the guests were).

But i do love AC. And i do love AC with Kathy. I wonder if this will be our this friday's episode?

I know it's going up to about 90 again today, but my house was so thorougly cool and dry by last night that I turned the AC off...and thanks to a morning overcast, it's still comfortable.  Once the sun comes out and stays out, it'll have to be on again, but this has been a nice respite, with just a fan keeping the air moving around.

I'm up, I'm up - the damn telephonic device began ringing at eight and would not stop all the way until nine, when I finally got up.  Of course, I took none of the calls.

Speaking of pain, I am trying out my new Teeter Hangup to see if it will alleviate my chronic back pain.  It's really wild to hang upside down.

They were a distant second even before they switched to Huddler.  ;)

Filichia on Friday is finally up - still don't know what the problem is.  It's funny to me - whenever former dear reader Jose posts anything on Facebook the only people who post "likes" and comments, at least for the most part, are dear readers.  There's no reason for him to come back is my less than subtle point.

And now I see dear reader Sandra posting her amusing things on Facebook rather than here - note to Sandra: More people see it here than there.  Since you haven't been here in a 'coon's age, stop on by.

Good morning, all! The alarm went off at 6 and I slept in until 7:30. I awoke around 4 this morning and could not get back to sleep. I listened to the fans, I listened to the air conditioner, I tossed and turned, When I finally fell back to sleep, I dreamed that I was working on a production of "Jacques Brel Is Alive and Well . . . "

My day is centered on whether or not that blasted check arrives. If it does, I've got a tripto the bank and then to Staples to copy those vocal books. If it doesn't, I'm screwed until it hopefully arrives in tomorrow's post.  In either case, I've got to finish these notes for the EILEEN recording and submit them.

TOD:
DVD:  who's got time?
CD:  Sweet Little Devil, Eileen, Guy Haines
VCR:  See DVD

Have you heard any "Sweet Little Devil" yet?

I have. All of it.

Then I take if that if you're listening to it again  that you enjoyed it. Would that be true?

BK, you must use a different calendar than I do.  I do not find July anywhere on my calendar next week.

I could use a blasted check, now that you mention it.

I would prefer a check that hasn't been blasted.  I want to blast it myself.

Tomorrow, I am going to be part of a panel in downtown Austin for the Texas Writer's League.

The subject is self-publishing.

Druxy, I hope it goes well for you.
