The Cinema Theatre Association is dedicated to cinema buildings in the UK and today I spent time in their archive office sorting out some of the masses of material for cataloging and filing. The material is fascinating and I hope to continue helping out on a regualr basis.

T.O.D.

THE MUSICAL ADVENTURES OF PETER PAN

Was that the correct title?  That doesn't sound right to me.  Oh well, maybe I didn't get enough sleep.

I'm now home and the apartment smells like fried bacon!

I am now craving a BLT.

I had one for lunch at a roadside cafe. Very good it was to!

Saturday afternoon greetings from the west side of Lima, OH!  We came up this morning for the funeral of one of our parishioners.  Marian was diagnosed a couple of years ago with cancer at age 83.  She decided not to pursue treatment, but to live as fully and comfortably as possible without being tethered to bottles and machines.  Her service was conducted by her daughter's Methodist minister, who had been visiting Marian regularly.  She'd told him to do the service right out of the Book of Common Prayer and, when we arrived this morning, he invited Fr. Richard to participate.  From the audience, it looked like they'd spent hours preparing and rehearsing.  We'll go home after church tomorrow.

I hope this slow Saturday isn't due to the terrible storms that rumbled across the country last night.  I am thinking that Kevin may be without power today.

The crowds have started to descend on the Taste of Tacoma (actually, rather small crowds); but immediately the dark storm clouds started to gather.  No rain yet, but...............

Fruitful visit to Big Lots. In addition to a Francois Truffaut (Mississippi Mermaid) and the Irene Pappas Elektra, I came  across a $3 copy of "Attack of the Puppet People." I know Elmore will not be amused, but I will finally get to sample this slice of cinema history. Don't know when I'll get to watch it, as the new "Great Expectations" just came in at the library  and so did "Hugo." But I think it can wait a week or so.

I went to a couple of Big Lots a few times a few years ago, and found a couple of decent things, then it dried up and I stopped going.  I guess it's time to pay them another visit.  Nice to hear they had a Midnite Movies DVD -- maybe I'll wind up with one of the few remaining ones I want (or "need").  (I've got probably two-thirds of them.)

Well, the rain has arrived.  Actually more of a sprinkle than a storm.

I never know what they're going to have, so I head back there every two or three months or so and usually find at least one. Today, it was five.

Had a lovely time with dear reader Jane and her ever-lovin' Keith.  We took a long walk, talked - it was grand.

Then I picked up a couple of packages, then had a meeting, and in an hour we do our stumble-through.  I really don't want to eat the Gardenia food again tonight, but alas - maybe I'll just have some prosciutto and melon and a baked potato or something like that.

It is a very mild whilte fish.   Some might call it bland, unless it is seasoned when it is cooked.

Hugh Jackman, in Entertainment Weekly, calls LES MISERABLES the most meaningful film he has worked on in his career.  Hmm, I hope it is good.

Nicky only ate half of his breakfast this morning and he just turned his nose up at dinner.  I would be a little worried if he wasn't sitting next to me begging for kitty cookies.  And he is now getting  adament  about his cookies, but it won't do him any good until he has eaten dinner.

Damn!  I could have made five posts out of that story.

In spite of the showers, the traffic is picking up with people heading towards the Taste; not only driving down, but walking down as well.
