It's hot in Manhattan again, though not as hot as it was last week.

I'm off to a local restaurant, Budd Bay Cafe, to celebrate my sister's boyfriend's birthday!  I bought him a CD, Carole King's The Legendary Demos.  I don't know if he has it, but if he does, I'll keep it and get him something else.

Be back later!

It had to do with those kitty treats in the crackly bags. My friend always said those treats were like crack for cats. She would open the bag, and the cats would come from all over for the treats because they could hear when she opened the bag. I got some for our kitties, and Sasha (the 16-year-old) loves them.

I am confused, George. Don't you have a nominating committee that asks you if you would run for the position and then you are put on the ballot? Anyone who wants to be on the board just puts their name on the ballot?

Wait, what kitties?  Did you take in kittens while I was away?  Did I miss photos?

Decisions, decisions - and really hard to make.  I'll talk to the mastering guy in a bit and we'll discuss.  I keep waffling back and forth about which sounds better.  Sometimes his version, sometimes ours - I'm leaning towards his at the moment, and he's actually done minor stuff to ours and there are times I just like that better, but we shall see.

I've also asked my engineer to listen to both - he can't do that till seven, but I'm definitely needing his opinion before I decide.

We received a charming mini rose plant in a cute pot today.  I have it on our kitchen counter.  It was sent in memory of Sherlock by the woman who started The Romanian Animal Rescue group.  She also included Sherlock in her dedication for this month's news letter.  As she was in Romania running spay & neuter clinics she hadn't heard the news.  Once home she wrote to ask how he was doing.

It was very sweet of her but now we are missing him more than ever.  It didn't help that after hiking on Mt. Ashland this morning my group decided to have lunch at Callahan's, a nice lodge near there.  I never new until today that well behaved dogs were permitted on the patio.  Of course our perfectly behaved boy would have been welcomed there.  If only we had known, it is a nice roomy patio.

I'm about to power down for the night and probably won't be back until tomorrow evening.  Richard and I are going on an all-day bus trip tomorow to Cincinnati for the World Choir Games.  We have to be at the nearby senior center at 7:30am  :o

Thanks, DR Jane!  Richard really needs a day away from class prep and church work, so I'm glad we've had reservations for this trip for a while.  And I'm glad the weather is cooler than this time last week!

Curious, but not really savage.  I just got an e-mail from Direct TV (which I have) saying that the all-new season of DAMAGES premieres tongiht, but that it can only be seen on Direct TV.  Why would that be?

This was already answered. But I"m so sad that we haven't even gotten last season yet (since it moved to Direct tv). I love Damages. :(

Went to my niece's soccer game today. They had a mini tournament. It was lots of fun. Only problem was after 20 minutes extra time the guy in charge wanted them to keep playing. But the coach wanted to leave!

Surprisingly her team played very well together. They won all their matches. And that was with one kid who was not feeling well being the goalie the entire time. She is slightly scatterbrained and does not focus. There was one time when the opposing team was right on top of her and she did not even notice they were there!
