I am rarin' for these frickin thunderstorms to get past us already.  We've had a few half-second power dropouts, one of which seems to have knocked out one cable box so I'm going to take it down and exchange it.

Great news about Stephen Rea. I didn't know he was a singer.

Hopefully, he's better than Gabriel Byrne. ::)

No song, big dialogue scene in the Finale Ultimo.

Ahh.  He'll be great!

That reminds me, I wanted to ask if Ted Chapin's "Everything Was Possible" is all one would presumably expect it to be.  I picked up a beautiful hardcover copy a few years ago and literally just "discovered" it -- this very morning -- on my shelf.  Is this serendipity, or what?  Or just Dippity Do?  In a decent world, BK's CD and this book would be the perfect way to start my Education.

I think it's a wonderful book. It's written with no agenda and his take on Follies and how it happened is great. It's well worth the read.

I can't believe that I hadn't gotten this...until now.  I just ordered it.

This is getting silly, because just sitting here thinking about this I also remembered buying the "FOLLIES:  The Complete Collection" Vocal Selections.  Apparently I was rarin' to go on this at some point, and now it looks like it's actually going to happen.

I do have this, though.

Back from Dayton, where I did a couple of errands and attended this month's meeting of the Miami Valley Association of Volunteer Administrators.  The program wasn't particularly relevant to me, but it was done with a web-based presentation software called Prezi that's very cool.  I'm looking forward to playing with it.  On the way home I had a quick lunch at Chipotle and did a little grocery shopping.  Just as I pulled up our driveway, the heavens opened and we've had some much-needed rain.

Amen! Poor Gabriel, he should never have taken on CAMELOT, but I am still a fan.  I asked the Dublin producers to look into three Irish stars for the role, and I'm very happy we got Stephen Rea.

It is pouring rain here in Chelsea!

We have thunder, heavy rain and lightning. I'm hoping the temperature has dropped a few degrees but I'm not going outside to find out.

I got home before it started. I'm glad I did. There is HAIL right now. A few minutes ago it was so strong (the hail) I thought the skylight on the 5th floor of our building might break.

Since Ted's not gay, I don't think a book about FOLLIES has anything to do with your sexuality. I've been known to be wrong.

Not a drop here.

And no power outage except those momentary ones.

So I drove the cable box the three miles or so down to Comcast to exchange it, and guess what -- closed, due to no power.  That part of town looked like it had gotten hit with winds that took out a few trees and some power lines.  Not a widespread area.  Just the area I needed.  Consoled myself with a hamburger and iced coffee and came back home.

On a more excting newsfront, I learned this morning that Stephen Rea, who starred in THE CRYING GAME, will be our General George Washington for DEAREST ENEMY.

Congrats on having exciting news!

Thank you for the vibes for DR Craig.

That reminds me, I finished The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society and it was also an excellent read. I've been overdosing on biography lately (I'm about to start Leslie Caron's autobiography) but this was great. It's a quick read but I didn't want it to end. It has little twists and turns and goes from humor to pathos on the turn of a dime. If you haven't read it, I recommend it.

Apparently the movie is having casting troubles and has not begun filming yet, according to Wikipedia.

I'm very glad you enjoyed it.  It is a bit of history I never knew about.

Thanks for the update on the movie.

And another favorite Bollywood actor has breathed his last.

Rajesh Khanna passed away at age 69.  :-[

I'm sorry you lost another favorite actor.  He was too young.
