Today I was crossing the street in Santa Monica, which is usually fairly pedestrian-friendly, when I heard someone yelling. I turned to look and saw a young man in a pick-up truck yelling at me, "Lady, get across the street already!" I wasn't walking particularly slowly. But his actions were rather counter-productive, as my turning to look slowed my pace, as I mumbled, "You idiot!" The irony is that I had waited to let several cars pass before stepping into the street. Had I known that The Idiot was turning, I probably would have waited, but as he didn't use his turn signal, I thought he was going straight. If such a small thing as a "slow" pedestrian upsets him, he must be upset most of the time! I see much worse "infractions" daily!
