Quote last night from Jose:
Quote
After we left Central Park, Yosh and I went to Ditch Plains where (one of our) favorite bartenders happened to be on duty tonight. We didn't drink, but we did eat: Jalapeño-Cheddar Tater Tots, Deviled Eggs with Fried Oysters and their new Seared Scallops entree (with Charred Corn Puree, Cherry Tomatoes, Zucchini and Basil). All quite delicious. burp

Jose, that may be one of the few meals late-night snacks that you have described, that I would also totally enjoy every single item.

My yahoo email is apparently off-line. I wonder if it's operated out of India. That's got to be scary with 600 people without power.

600 people?

Great. 600 million.

Don't you hate it when the guy that makes the most mistakes corrects others on their errors?
Actually, I appreciate it.

Tom - I'm also guessing that you'd probably like, Alex, the bartender too. He's an actor when he's not tending bar at Ditch Plains.

Jose, do you know if this is a picture of a lobster roll? <We were poor when I was growing up.  All we could afford was a caned mackerel roll.>

I'm off to Rye Playland for the evening, which, for those of you who don't know, is a nice old amusement park just up the road from the Isle of Manhattan, on the shoreline at Long Island Sound.  It's not huge, and it isn't outstanding in every possible way, but it still has a number of great old rides and other attractions, is very attractive, and it has charm.  You probably wouldn't spend a whole day there, but it's a great place to relax and enjoy an evening.

Yes, it looks wonderful.

I usually asked for it the "other" way - lobster meat, no mayo, just drizzled with melted butter and a sprinkle of celery salt and Old Bay.

Eye Health vibes to DH Keith!

Job Vibes to DR Craig!

Thanks.

All day Keith has been going on about how great he can see out of that eye now, and how aware he is that the other eye will soon need fixing.

Craig seems pleased with the school he will be working out.  It sounds much like our local school he enjoyed.  Only time will tell if it meets his expectations.

Had a routine eye test and there's been a slight change so I've ordered new glasses. The opticians had a special offer of two for the price of one, so I've ordered sunglasses as well - even if the chance of getting any sun here for more than a few minutes, is fairly remote.

Even in December I wore sunglasses in London. :)

My favorite Thai dish is pad see ew with tofu.  I like it mild.  The best place I've had this is at the first Thai restaurant we went to in Michigan.
