Thank you all for the vibes for my girl.  I'm not going to be happy about leaving her tomorrow.  I know Toby won't have a good day.  I am thinking about leaving him in the house and blocking the doggie door to the outside.  I don't want him to try to dig out to find us.  He was very upset when we pulled out of driveway tonight.

Ben, just what you didn't want: A film version of "End of the Rainbow"

http://www.playbill.com/news/article/168618-End-of-the-Rainbow-Will-End-Aug-19-But-Theres-More-Judy-Beyond

Perhaps Ms. Bennett was having an off-day during the Tony Award broadcast. but I thought she was terrible.

No, she was not having an off day during the Tony award broadcast. She was better in the show than she was on the Tonys but the script is a pile of crap and I don't think any actress, no matter how brilliant could rescue it. The play sucks and when that's the problem it's almost impossible to fix.

High praise indeed!  I may have to fly out to L.A. for this one!

Fred, i was surprised by Randy's phone call because I thought she was dead yesterday.  I hope she went peacefully; she deserved an easy exit.

It was surprising how long it took.  I imagine it was peaceful.

TCB, I keep leaving the computer all together because I managed to make it through the day without hearing any results.  I'm enjoying watching tonight

OK,so "The Woman in Black" was not the greatest movie ever, but I want all the windup toys in the movie.

And it must be Janet McTeer tonight, because "Albert Nobbs" also came in, so that's starting now.

You can tell I'm getting work done on my paper.

Re End of the Rainbow closing - it is now standard operating procedure for shows to not just post their closing notice but to do so while putting on a happy face of a tour, a film, and heaven knows what else.  In the old days, a damn flop just closed - and let me assure you End of the Rainbow is a damn flop.  Just close it, admit you were a flop and don't fill everyone up with a bunch of Fantasyland crap.  Every show that closes is preparing a tour.

Look for the early 1980s BBC television production of THE WOMAN IN BLACK. It's absolutely terrifying.

I love seeing Olympians getting excited about winning bronze medals.

Ooh, I feel a cue for a "Get Happy" parody lyric there.

Back from a delightful evening at Playland.  Perfect weather, not crowded, rode the old wooden Dragon Coaster and a couple of other charming vintage rides.  Ate a couple of Nathan's chili dogs.  Thoroughly relaxing and enjoyable.

Home from rehearsal. Now to record some cues for that Rupert Holmes musical.  A family member is trying to pitch it to a theatre company for next season.  I don't know the score well, hopefully the cues will suffice.  I hate recording....
