Well, you've read the notes, the notes were lazy and loafed, and now it is time for you to post until the lazy cows come home.

6:44 AM and I'm home with Bonnie.  I didn't have any trouble sleeping.  I parked Bonnie beside the tech's car so the bad window was facing his car.  I also stopped off at the dollar store and bought a plastic drop cloth so no rain go in the window.

I'm tired now.  I was woke up at least 3 times for the test.  First without the mask where it was determined that I really DO need it because I stopped breathing several times.  Duh.
The 2nd phase to put the mask on.
The 3rd phase to put a chin strap on me.
The 4th phase to send me on my merry way.

Not very good news I'm afraid.  I went from 12 lbs pressure to 14.5  along with now needing the chin strap.

Well, I'm going to go lay down after I wash the goop from my hair.  I have to think about what I'm going to do about that window.

Next question dealership or repair shop?  I'm thinking repair shop I can walk home from there.   Opinions?

Good morning, all! I slept rather well, but the fans do more than keep a level of cool air circulating over a heavier layer that settles on your skin and burns from its heat. I do detest this weather, and the elevator being dwn for a minimum of three days really irks me. There are at least two older men in tis building who are unwell, if not infirm, and they really shouldn't be walking 2-5 flights of stairs in this heat. I do feel sorry for those on the upper floors.

I will leave very shortly for Toyland. If I'm going to endure the heat, I'd rather do it in a building where the AC is really cold. I've got a few more volumes of bound music to put away, and then I may actually work on ROBERTA for a while.  I think Mr Skip Kennon is coming down to organizemore of the McGlinn library. It will be nice to have company.  Hopefully, our cleaning man Arnold has removed all of the garbage that was accumulating.

DR JohnG, I've never understood Kathryn Gayson's stardom; someone thought she had talent as a soprano but I find her the epitome of the Anna Russell comment of "resonance where your brain ought to be."  She's particularly dreadful as Magnolia. If there were an Oscar for Most Putrid Performance, she'd have a shelf full of them.

Monroe:
Almost everything but there are some like RIVER OF NO RETURN that I haven't seen in fifty years. Ihe one I detest is THE MISFITS, which I think is pretentious hogwash with a great cast.  I have no respect for Mr Arthur Miller and his "serious" plays. He's a middleclass coward who thinks he's a deep writer; when he was angry, he wrote one brave play, THE CRUCIBLE. Tennesseee Williams writes rings around him.

Favorite Monroe:  SOME LIKE IT HOT, HOW TO MARRY A MILLIONAIRE, SEVEN YEAR ITCH

Favorite Monroe song: I'm Through With Love

I love RIVER OF NO RETURN......Robert Mitchum and Tommy Rettig and Rory Calhoun AND Marilyn Monroe.

And the way the director and photographer positioned Monroe during her singing of "One Silver Dollar" so that one of the men in the audience, wearing cowboy hat.....has his head between her legs for most of the number.

I've always wondered if some of the tension between O'Conner and Dailey in THERE'S NO BUSINESS LIKE SHOW BUSINESS was because at the time it was being made.....O'Connor's wife was divorcing him to marry Dailey?

And now I must get ready for work, since it is a Saturday.

Before I go, it is my duty to report that Rose is now named Precious.  She got a clean bill of health from the Vet yesterday.  She is five years old, has NO chip, no heartworm, her shots are now all up to date.  She had a bath before her Vet visit, and is taking some itching pills....I guess they are NON itching pills.

And she seems to be liking her new home.

IT is VERY NICE to have her meet me at the door when I come home.

Good morning, all.

I'll say it right now:  Today is MY lazy day.  I do not expect more of myself than to read and watch movies and listen to some music.

Vibes and xylophones to all.

I might watch some TCM today to catch a MM film or two that I haven't seen, notably RIVER OF NO RETURN and perhaps BUS STOP.  (I've probably seen some of it, but I've never really watched it.)

So, the TOD, thus far:

Seven Year Itch
How to Marry a Millionaire
Niagara

I, too, think of SOME LIKE IT HOT as less a Monore film than a Lemmon and Curtis and Billy Wilder film.

Really sorry to hear of the SEVEN YEAR ITCH color deficiencies.  I wonder if the colors are the same on the previous DVD that I have.

Thanks JRand61 for mentioning it's Marilyn day on TCM.  I just set my DVR for Gentlemen Prefer Blondes and Seven Year Itch.

Arnold did a great cleaning job yesterday! The office looks less like a warehouse and more like a functioning unit. I am very very pleased!
