In any case...

I should get ready for Day Three of my TheatreWorks "boot camp". We'll start putting the show on its feet today, so I won't have to do much teaching today. However, I will be having to figure out just how much of the underscore I will need or not need to use. Additionally, I'll have to figure out my cueing for various sections and entrances. I suspect I will be doing a lot of "sniff cues".

Oh...

Just in case anyone is interested, my Cast consists of:

Bryce Ryness
A.J. Shively
Howard Swain
Jenni Barber
Sharon Rietkerk
Kelsey Ventner

It's a great mix of NYC- and Bay Area-based Actors.

Probably not, as there is an Austin version of the book and SXSW is very Austin-centric. Still, it's something to mention to the publisher ...

So, thanks for the idea.

The demolition team is prepping.  We have added the removal of several large oak trees that grow through or over our decks.  For fire safety they shouldn't be so close to the house, plus during acorn season our house sounds like we are under attack.   It is amazing how hard the acorns hit our house.

DR JRand - So... Just how many shows are you working on right now?

Four!  Not counting the wedding - but that will be over tomorrow.

I notice that I continually type "invioce" instead of "invoice" and "clarient" instead of "clarinet." Is this dyslexic typing?

No, you are just using the Latin spelling.

I just got the Region 2 DVD of THE CRYING GAME, which has a lot of extras not on the Region 1 disc, including the original ending and the director's commentary. I think I'll watch that tomorrow night.

and the check is in my postal carrier's hands!  He just called, and I am going over to the PO in the next 15 minutes. Then, I will head for the bank and deposit it.

I'm gonna record with Stephen Rea next week! Now I have to watch THE CRYING GAME again.

Great news, elmore, now you can relax (a little).

Well TMM opens today.  I am working on the photo album for the website, since I just got the photos last night.

And THE WEDDING is tomorrow, so I am getting ready for that.

Of course one of the groomsmen who was chosen six months ago said yesterday that he has NO black jacket and no $$$ to buy one.  So we've been looking around.  I think I have one that will fit him.....but it's just one more annoyance.

Will you be listed as "Costumer" in the wedding program?

Scott, my regular carrier, is the absolute best! I really do appreciate him and, when he retires this year, I will sorely miss him. I find the problem at the local PO, which I consider the worst in the City, is that the management is a bunch of morons. Last week, I sent the Post Office a request to have my mail held while I'm in Dublin. Scott has not yet received the request from the management.

I've learned it is best to hand the hold request to the mail carrier or leave it in our mail box.  I have also left two requests, one at the post office & one in the box.  If nothing important is expected I stop delivery the day before to make sure it went through.  Most of all, I find it easier to have my neighbor pick up my mail for me.  We do the same for her.

Yes, but you are only supposed to do it when she is out of town!   ;)

DR elmore - Can you activate your hold at the Post Office online? I've found this to be the most efficient way to get it done since the notification seems to go directly to the postal scanners/computer system.

USPS - Hold Mail Service

I always go tthrough the US Postal site. That's why the situation is so frustrating. I think it's relayed to the local PO and the moron in charge screws it up.

Sniff cues?  Isn't that when the actor actually dies?

DO NOT CLICK ON ANY LINKS IN A TWEET OR ON FACEBOOK!

-That will most likely just register your twitter account/Facebook account/IP address with the sender of said spam. -I really don't need to see myself tagged in another picture of sneakers on Facebook. ::)

I've seen that picture of the sneakers. What is that?

You're right! It's IRS and Social Security. Until the SS clicks in, though, I have to pay Medicare myself.

TOD:

At The Ballet and just about everything else from A CHORUS LINE
Fill In The Words and just about everything else from THEY'RE PLAYING OUR SONG
Theme from BANANAS
Nobody Does It Better
Disneyland

I also liked Hamlisch's work on the score for THE STING which, even though it's technically wrong for the period of the film, works wonderfully.
