Vibes that the visit goes well, Matthew.

Do you ever visit NY, Matthew?  Hope you'll make time to see some DRs if you do!

DR FJL - last time I was in NYC was 2006.  And most DR's were out of town the weekend I went!!   I hope to be back soon, someday.  I usually go back to see shows, etc.  And frankly, I haven't felt the need to do so in a while :(

Lovely to see Pogue

Or have you been popping in and I've missed it because of my strange schedule?

I had many Marx sets, too.  My favorites were the Civil War set and the Cape Canaveral Space Center.

I'm determined to make such a posting pest of myself while I'm here and available, that when I'm gone for a few days and really can't post for a while, BK will actually be relieved not to have posts from me  rather than wonder why I'm not posting.  :)

Had a doozey of a nightmare last night.  I was in a house that I didn't recognize.  I was in a long hallway leading to a partially closed door from which there were sounds of a violent struggle.  As I approached the door, a long haired cat padded in front of me, blocking my way.  It stared at the doorway, then at me.  And it opened its mouth to hiss at me.  And it had a mouthful of long needle-like teeth like the creature in ALIEN.  And it began to get closer---and closer--and closer--and then I woke up...

That scared me.

DR DtM the Dream-O-Matic 6000 says that your dream indicates that you are hesitant about several choices that you will be facing in the next few months, and that you need additional information to make the right decision.

You are also hesitant to let yourself be angry at someone about a slight or insult because it could end a friendship.

Today, I'm going to see my Dad.  I haven't seen him in 22 years.  He's out visiting his sister until tomorrow.  Because I was away and busy before that, I was unable to see him before today, and it was just that my brother, who'd been spending time with him, told me that he wanted to see me.  He divorced my mom 33 years ago, or something like that.  In 1978, I stopped contact with him, but that's another story, nevermind... anyway...  Some time after that he moved to Tennessee.   I saw him in 1990 briefly when his mother passed away and he came out for the funeral.  In 1996, I called him when my great-uncle passed away (as he always loved my great-uncle) and I mentioned to him that I was gay, kinda off the cuff.  (which was fine, whatever)  I contacted him in 2004 or so, just to say hi and I'm alive.  We emailed for a while, sent gifts, etc.  Then I guess we both lost interest and I kept in touch with him through my younger brother who seemed more interested in a relationship with his father than I did.

All in all, I don't blame him for anything anymore.  I mean, what's the point?  What good/bad is it going to do?  I really have no interest in a father/son relationship with him, but he is my father.  Bottom line is he's my biological father, can't change that at all.

So, I'll make the trek to Sacramento ( 2 hour drive) say hello, catch up, etc, then I'll come home.  I don't feel obligated, but I know it's the "right thing" to do.  Can't really negate the fact that this man had a part in giving me life.

<and these are the days of our lives>
Whatever happens, I think you will be glad you've made the trip.

Good Morning!

I'm up, I'm up... And I'm having coffee. And a bagel with cream cheese.

Of course, it's not a "real" bagel, but more like a piece of bread in the shape of a bagel. But it is tasty, and it's topped with some sort of cheese, asiago and/or parmesan, I believe. Oh, and I also put a few sheets of nori on top of the cream cheese. It's like extra-vegan lox. ::)

Anyhoo...

My favourite crayola colour was the one I needed at the particular moment to make what I was colouring interesting.

I like your favorite color.

I didn't have a strange dream/nightmare last night, but the night before... UGH! I guess the fact that we're rehearsing in a high school... and with the recent shootings... They all sort of sunk into my noggin somehow. ???

As for the Topic of the Day...

Not necessarily my favorites, but just the ones I always seemed to end up when all I really wanted, needed were the basics (Red, Navy Blue, etc.):

Periwinkle
Cornflower
Burnt Sienna

And, once again, major Kudos and Thanks to the Fraud Department at Chase for taking care of my issue last night. I just checked my account information, and everything seems to be back to normal. Whew!

TOD:

Red

Just that simple.  RED.  It was my favorite Crayola color.

Toys:  I once had a Roy Rogers ranch set...with a ranch house and fences and horses and cattle.  It would probably look silly now.  But I'd dearly love to have one again.

And...plastic bricks...I had a huge set of plastic bricks and I built houses and apartment buildings....and later did "sets" for plays.  Would love those brick sets (or an improvement on same) again.

I have become such a coffee wuss.  I used to drink it black (many, many years ago), but in recent years I have discovered French Vanilla Coffee Creamer.  Today is grocery delivery day, but I am currently out of creamer, so I made a cup with just milk in it.  Yuck!  :P

TOD:

I have thought all morning on the TOD and I guess I never had a favorite crayola crayon, at least not that I can recollect.

As for toys, I am so envious of all you who had those Marx sets! I wanted them all! I did end up with the Prehistoric set...caves, dinosaurs, cavemen, trees, etc.

Got a lot of playtime out of that set and in my Jr High School years I used the caves and trees for some of my 8mm home made sci fi films such as DAY OF THE DINOSAURS and VOGORAN, MONSTER FROM BELOW as well as the popular comedy THE GOTTALOP.

Good morning, all! I slept very poorly last night. I got back from the rehearsal very unhappy with the schedule for the chorus rehearsals; I had lost one because of the dread BUDGET, and I believe I need it back. The chorus I heard last night was beautiful, limpid, and ready to sing something classical, but they sound nothing like a Broadway chorus, and because of THE BUDGET, I'm not sure I have enough time to get them where I feel they should be. I was told the rehearsal was to go until 10, and the chorus was dismissed at 9! Outside of telling them the basic plot, I got no time to work with them. I was not pleased.

So, at 2:30am, I sent an email to everyone over my unhappiness with the rehearsal last night.

So, I just had a long phone call with Jonathan about the situation and we will aim for an extra hour on Thursday.

I plan to spend a bit of time this morning on postcards.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Tuesday Vibes to one and all!~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Positive rehearsal vibes to DR elmore and the chorus!
