Morning all!

Not much to say.  Maybe later this week. ;)

Vibes to all.  Hoping everything goes well for DR Elmoore!

Have a wonder filled day!

I hope everything is okay, Danise!  You haven't mentiioned the AC (either one of them) lately, so I assume the problem has been totally fixed.

TOD:

Favorite crayons:  Lime Green, Yellow Green and Green Yellow

I don't really remember liking one Crayola color better than another.  Possibly black, because then you couldn't see that I was never able to stay within the lines.

Toys I wish they would bring back?  The Aurora Universal Monsters models!

I believe this is the only Aurora Monster that still exists.

TOD:

You're asking such difficult questions these days.

I have no memory of what my favorite crayons were 60+ years ago.

 :P

I do recall that, when I was about 10-11, I had a toy printing press and I published my own little newspaper.

Perhaps that's what started me on the road to ruin (i.e. to become a writer).

 ::)

So did I.  I had forgotten about that printing press.  I had visions that I would turn my little newspaper into a city-wide success.

The largest box of Crayons I ever had was the 48-count flip lid......many lovely colors.....  I aspired to own the 64-count long skinny box with a sharpener, but never realized my dream.

I had many Marx sets, too.  My favorites were the Civil War set and the Cape Canaveral Space Center.

Did your Cape Canaveral Space Center set come with the glowing rock from SPACE CHILDREN?

I'm determined to make such a posting pest of myself while I'm here and available, that when I'm gone for a few days and really can't post for a while, BK will actually be relieved not to have posts from me  rather than wonder why I'm not posting.  :)

Where are you going?  And why?

Today, I'm going to see my Dad.  I haven't seen him in 22 years.  He's out visiting his sister until tomorrow.  Because I was away and busy before that, I was unable to see him before today, and it was just that my brother, who'd been spending time with him, told me that he wanted to see me.  He divorced my mom 33 years ago, or something like that.  In 1978, I stopped contact with him, but that's another story, nevermind... anyway...  Some time after that he moved to Tennessee.   I saw him in 1990 briefly when his mother passed away and he came out for the funeral.  In 1996, I called him when my great-uncle passed away (as he always loved my great-uncle) and I mentioned to him that I was gay, kinda off the cuff.  (which was fine, whatever)  I contacted him in 2004 or so, just to say hi and I'm alive.  We emailed for a while, sent gifts, etc.  Then I guess we both lost interest and I kept in touch with him through my younger brother who seemed more interested in a relationship with his father than I did.

All in all, I don't blame him for anything anymore.  I mean, what's the point?  What good/bad is it going to do?  I really have no interest in a father/son relationship with him, but he is my father.  Bottom line is he's my biological father, can't change that at all.

So, I'll make the trek to Sacramento ( 2 hour drive) say hello, catch up, etc, then I'll come home.  I don't feel obligated, but I know it's the "right thing" to do.  Can't really negate the fact that this man had a part in giving me life.

<and these are the days of our lives>

I hope it goes well.

I almost sang the tunes that I remember from Streets of NY all these years later - it's amazing what the brain retains for close to fifty years - "New York's a perfect city to visit, but I wouldn't wan to live there, that's no insult, is it?"  "He'll come to me crawling."

Good Morning!

I'm up, I'm up... And I'm having coffee. And a bagel with cream cheese.

Of course, it's not a "real" bagel, but more like a piece of bread in the shape of a bagel. But it is tasty, and it's topped with some sort of cheese, asiago and/or parmesan, I believe. Oh, and I also put a few sheets of nori on top of the cream cheese. It's like extra-vegan lox. ::)

Gee, my mouth is watering!

Actually, i had a couple of paid ads from local businesses.

I had a toy typewriter like this in the second grade.  You dialed the letter you wanted and pressed the large key to print to the paper.  The small round key was the shift so that you could get capital letters.  It was painfully slow..........

I know what you mean.  I realized a while back that I still know all the words to the theme songs from FELIX THE CAT and LITTLE LULU.

(And I haven't heard either one in over a week)

Had a nice e-mail from Hal Prince - what a gentleman he is, kind of the opposite of other people on that creative team.  He just wrote to say he'd heard it arrived but is out of town and that he can't wait to hear it and thanked me for doing it.  Class.
Wow. If you do the second edition, you'll have to use quotes from all of these people in the booklet.
