Mr Tunick, Mr Prince, and Mr Sondheim.....all great to hear from, of course.

But getting an email from Dorothy Collins' daughter is very exciting as well.  I wonder if Yvonne's sons know about the CD?

Well....them, too.

I emailed Bruce Morgan at Yvonne's Official Site and let him know.

Today, I'm going to see my Dad.  I haven't seen him in 22 years.  He's out visiting his sister until tomorrow.  Because I was away and busy before that, I was unable to see him before today, and it was just that my brother, who'd been spending time with him, told me that he wanted to see me.  He divorced my mom 33 years ago, or something like that.  In 1978, I stopped contact with him, but that's another story, nevermind... anyway...  Some time after that he moved to Tennessee.   I saw him in 1990 briefly when his mother passed away and he came out for the funeral.  In 1996, I called him when my great-uncle passed away (as he always loved my great-uncle) and I mentioned to him that I was gay, kinda off the cuff.  (which was fine, whatever)  I contacted him in 2004 or so, just to say hi and I'm alive.  We emailed for a while, sent gifts, etc.  Then I guess we both lost interest and I kept in touch with him through my younger brother who seemed more interested in a relationship with his father than I did.

All in all, I don't blame him for anything anymore.  I mean, what's the point?  What good/bad is it going to do?  I really have no interest in a father/son relationship with him, but he is my father.  Bottom line is he's my biological father, can't change that at all.

So, I'll make the trek to Sacramento ( 2 hour drive) say hello, catch up, etc, then I'll come home.  I don't feel obligated, but I know it's the "right thing" to do.  Can't really negate the fact that this man had a part in giving me life.

<and these are the days of our lives>

Tuesday afternoon greetings!  Right before I left for water aerobics Rob called to ask for a ride up to Middletown to pick up Mary Linda's old car.  As soon as I was finished at the Y, I drove to Cincinnati and back and have just now finished lunch and seen Rob off.

Listening to BK's podcast now.

Had a nice e-mail from Hal Prince - what a gentleman he is, kind of the opposite of other people on that creative team.  He just wrote to say he'd heard it arrived but is out of town and that he can't wait to hear it and thanked me for doing it.  Class.

Very nice.

Ron Palillo has died of a heart attack.

I just read about that:( I didn't know that he had been with his partner for 41 years!  And Ron was 63, so they were together since Ron was 22.  Amazing.

I had a toy typewriter like this in the second grade.  You dialed the letter you wanted and pressed the large key to print to the paper.  The small round key was the shift so that you could get capital letters.  It was painfully slow..........

It was indeed slow.  Had one like it...different color...but OMG.   And the ribbon never wanted to advance.

BK, I know Streets of New York also. I did the show in 1976 on the Minnesota Centennial Showboat! I have the CD.
Is that the Miles Krueger show? I have that CD, too.

This is the show

Streets of New York
That's the one I have based on the cover. For some reason I thought he was involved with the show.

TOD

Don't remember which colors were favorites, but I'm revisiting the old names on Wikipedia which has a chart you can sort. .....

What a fun list!  I really liked the "precious metals" - copper, gold, and silver.

I loved to color and still do, but now I'm learning to use Copic Markers.

Or any of Harvey Evans' kids

Ooh wait, Harvey's still here, right?

Today's rehearsal went stunningly! We had Rachel, annalene, Hal, Philip, Joe, and John, and we got through the  secondary coiuple's (Hal and Rachel) three numbers, Annalene's reprise of "Bye and Bye" and her dialogue scene with General Putnam, and the Generals' "Cheerio" and "Full Blown Roses." After my concerns about the chorus, I know that I've got a fantastic cast.

Tomorrow Jim, our romantic lead, and Kim Criswell arrive and the party begins.

After rehearsal, David the conductor and I went out to dinner and then we hit a pub for a couple of glasses of Guinness.

Red

Just that simple.  RED.  It was my favorite Crayola color.

That was my first favorite color.  Magenta was another favorite.

Back from a sandwich and no fries, picking up no packages (even though packages will be here at some point - annoying), taking stuff to the Xerox place then attempting to pick it up an hour later only to be told it's not ready (and now I won't go back till much later).
