Back from a mercifully short play of eighty minutes duration in one act.  Not a wonderful play, but some nice acting.

Thinking about food for the evening.  I'm totally safe to eat about six hundred calories.

As far as the raffle baskets go, my friend Shelly won the barbecue basket that my sister and I put together!  AND Shelly actually won two, count 'em TWO baskets!  AND my friend Margo won a prize (a hair cut, not a basket) AND I won a basket!!  Who knew that between myself and two friends, that we'd win four prizes!  SCORE!! :D

;)  Congrats!

Thanks, Jane!

JR, I think John G. had this problem recently. He had to delete Text Enhance as I recall.
I did have that problem. I had to talk to a tech expert about getting it removed.

Went to a gala this afternoon in honor of Julia Child's 100th birthday. Interesting, but the star chefs sort of stumbled. But the wines were nice.

Then folks came over tonight for more food.

I need to go on a fast.

Good evening, all.

I'm trying to figure out where the day went, and what I accomplished.  It's not much, sad to say.  Well, not all that sad.  But tomorrow will be better.

Off to bed. Watched "Morning Glory" tonight. Early Katharine Hepburn and a highly mannered, irritating performance it was, too. Mercifully the movie was only 74 minutes.

Night, all.

The trip home from Canada was on time and uneventful -

no free upgrades but also no delays -  and we were met at the airport by a stretch limo instead of a town car

I've been waiting to see if Playbill and its CD reviewer  would review Follies - but since said reviewer purchased it perhaps he doesn't feel the need to review it.  But I just read his review of the reissue of Working.  It's a rather astonishing review in a way, since all the reviewer talks about is the show, the songs, and the performers and other than mentioning that the CD is on Sony Masterworks (which, BTW, it's really not) he does not say a word about the CD, the quality or anything else.  As most know, I reissued this on Fynsworth Alley with a whole slew of bonus material in excellent sound.  I have no idea what source was used for this new thing, but don't you think the readers would at least like to know it's only available as a download (and maybe a CDR through Arkiv)?  Why write a purported CD review and not say a word about the quality of the issue?  Seems mighty weird to me.

I always wonder about things like that.  There was a "review" of a movie recently (I forget which...I didn't see it), but it wasn't a review, it was just a synopsis of the movie.  What's the point of that??

Watched a couple of Telugu language (Tollywood) films this weekend and have discovered a new favorite actor in Sharwanand. I don't know how I never noticed this guy before. He is great in comedy roles!
