Well, you've read the notes, the notes had no juice, and not it is time for you to post until the juiced cows come home.

Good morning all!  I enjoyed my day yesterday.  I did some cooking, cleaning and watching movies that I don't have time to on the weekend.

Vibes to everyone who needs them--I do feel bad for those who will face Isacc.

Not looking forward to going to work.  Yuck.

Have a wonder filled day all!

I'd mentioned that by totally bizarre coincidence (now has nothing to do with then) this lawyer Jeffrey whose back in our lives these days was someone I'd totally by coincidence dated back in the 1980s.

My mom called late last night.  She's had a nagging feeling (mom and nagging in the same sentence, what are the odds?), and sure enough in a shoebox she'd packed up when they'd closed up the New York place in October is video of Jeffrey with our family, though my dad isn't there so we're wondering if it was while my dad was in the hospital, because there would be no other reason for my dad not to be at a family party.  Nothing unusual that a family gathering's on video for us even back then, it was just it the back of her mind that as she was putting stuff away in October that something had been labeled about my friend Jeffrey.  She's trying to figure out how to get a copy to me, but I don't want her to hurt the original. Totally unrelated, not sure i even want to see it.  Mom says she can't tell from the video if I was even really out to the family at that point.

So busy at work. I'm looking forward to a half-day Friday and a trip to Long Island for the Labor Day weekend.

Hmmmm......yesterday was quite busy.....although I was certainly NOT as busy as others on this here site - because I only have my business and NOT a job to do as well....

Lunch was nice AND both rehearsals went well.....although our "Jack Benny" is not being very "Jack Benny".....maybe he just needs a refresher course......WELL.....    Since I am playing "Mel Blanc" selling shoelaces.....and I can't do Bugs Bunny OR the Spanish guy....I decided to do Elmer Fudd....which was pretty funny.....or at least everyone was laughing to be polite.

AND Act One went well....so we shall see about ACT TWO tonight.  I shall make my first appearance in my underwear.....

DR DtM - The House on Green Apple Road was a murder mystery.....  Miss Janet Leigh was terrific.  It was a flashback where the secret life of a housewife was exposed...   One of my favorite actors....whose career went nowhere.... Mr Burr DeBenning was featured in it......

Good morning, all! I stayed up to watch GRIMM and didn't get to bed before 11:30. I am quite tired and planning my trip to Toyland. I think I will bus down: 104 to Lincoln Center and the 7 to 27th Street. It will be another rainy day.

DR JohnG, I like Andrew Davies' work a lot  but he didn't do well with his THREE MUSKETEERS, which is amazingly bad, or A ROOM WITH A VIEW, which added a stupid postlude.

I have nothing else to report for now.

I will need my memory jogged, too.  In fact, it already has been, as I shamelessly crib off of DR Doug R's sheet with THE SPY WHO CAME IN FROM THE COLD.

And, let's just get it out there:  all of the 1960s James Bond, including the George Lazenby ON HER MAJESTY'S SECRET SERVICE.

This is what happens when you want your photograph taken, you have a new camera, AND you forget that the camera has a "movie" setting.

If anyone else would like to have the 1936 James Whale SHOW BOAT, either to keep or to watch and pass on to someone else, my test DVD-R is perfectly watchable and I will be happy to send it out.

(I would offer to burn additional copies from it, but in my experience such copies have been unreliable in comparison to those recorded in real time from the source.)

Good morning, all.

Work vibes for DR Danise and anyone else in need.

Elmore, I, too, love most everything Andrew Davies has done ("Daniel Deronda" and "He Knew He Was Right" perhaps being my favorites. But "A Room" was just so unnecessary and the ending was possibly worse than you led me to believe, if that is possible.

Whew.

TOD: Did Jane Austen write any spy movies?

I agree on the Bond films with a special place for "On Her Majesty's Secret Service," because of Diana Rigg (or was that already the 1970s?).

The Spy Who Came in from the Cold

And for fun, the Flint movies.

I am partial to those Italian spy films of the 1960s, especially ones starring Ken Clark or Rodd Dana (aka Robert Mark).

Tuesday morning greetings!  It's a beautiful day here in SW Ohio - perfect for the homecoming of our Olympic champion in judo, Kayla Harrison.  There's a parade downtown this evening, after she spends the afternoon with students at Middletown High School.

I hope so, DR MBarnum.  It will depend on how hot it is and how much work Richard gets done on his paper today.
