Very impressive, DR Jane.

About all I can boast of getting done here right now is a large load of laundry.

It is keeping us entertained.  I would rather be traveling.

The New York Film Festival is going to show the original ending of "Little Shop of Horrors," the movie of the musical, and apparently it will soon be available on DVD. This from Playbill.com:

In October "Little Shop of Horrors: Director's Cut," featuring both endings, will be available on Blu-ray.

This title will be released on October 9, 2012!

Can't wait! :D

Thanks DR Jrand.

The tree guys, who are doing a wonderful job, had to leave for an emergency.  A cotton tree fell on a house.  I commented there isn't even any wind today.  Apparently if you have a cotton tree near your house you are very foolish as they are delicate trees and fall over easily.

DR Jane, do you find it stressful to be having this kind of work done on your house?  I'm enjoying the pictures, but I don't envy you the process!

TOD:

I love the OSS 117 French films with Jean DuJardin....especially the first one Cairo: Nest of Spies....  So funny.

I've had those in my Netflix queue for a couple of years...even before I had ever heard of "The Artists."  I guess I should watch them. :)

DR George, the two OSS 117 films are absolutely hilarious!

When I went up to my storage unit earlier, I realized I had left my electronic access card in my other bag at the apartment. Thankfully, Gina at the front desk very kindly "keyed" me in, and I was able to fetch some of the music I needed: various collections of vocal duets by Brahms, Fauré, Schumann and Rossini. -And, thankfully, I only had to move one set of boxes to get to them.

Then it was back down to Columbus Circle for lunch at Landmarc. I tried their "Smoked Tuna" Sandwich. It was good - basically a tuna salad sandwich made with, well, smoked tuna. However, the true treat came when the check was presented: their amazing housemade caramels. And they were from a freshly made batch! Sooooo good. I normally save one or two to take with me for later, but I ended up all six. :)

Then I dropped off the music at my friend's studio near Carnegie Hall. She's hosting an "Art Song Jam" tonight at The Gershwin Hotel. I'm hoping to go tonight, but I'm on standby right now to help another friend with a project. However, it should be a fun event, and from the RSVP list on Facebook, it looks like some very good singers are showing up to sing a lot of different types of songs.

I doubt he wants them, not that there have been any opportunities.  Even in this heat I think the dust & dirt is reason enough to keep their shirts on.

In other news...

I just had my first soy latte.

And my last.

-I like soy milk, but I guess I don't like it as a base for my coffee drinks.

The Social Security agent I saw on July 30, who never returned my accountant's calls, processed my account on July 31, and my benefits begin on Oct 17! I just called my accountant and told him it was settled; we both agree that she could have at least told us it was no longer in quesion.

Well... Does this mean you're "officially" old now?
