From DR ChasSmith:

Howe Caverns, where my friends are getting married.  Not down in the caverns, though, as that can only be done if it's a small party.

That looks like a great place to get married.  Have a good time.

Scary doings in Austin today with the evacuation of UT. Are you being affected at all, Druxy?

They have evacuated the state of Utah?

Yes, TCB.  Everyone has been trucked to Iowa.

I spent a lovely couple of days up at the Grand Canyon. No condor sightings, but a nice trip nonetheless.

It is currently over 100 degrees.  Anyone who thinks this is normal needs to have their head examined.  I cannot remember a hotter summer ever.

At least you have a summer.  We've had a handful of hot days in the last 3 months.

I would not like that DR Matthew.

Usually, in September, it gets hotter.  But we've had temps in the 70's this year.  Kinda sad, really.  It'll start getting cool in October, and then MAYBE we'll have a winter.  I don't remember much of that last year either.

I recall lots of heatwaves shortly after we returned to school, especially in elementary school when I had classes in the bungalows.

I've had years like that.  Spring never seems to happen until summer & then summer is very short.

I need to find a quieter spot in the house.  The workers have been using loud equipment all day & the windows are open.

I hate it when that happens.  I only enjoy the quiet equipment use, myself.

Good Evening!

Well... It turns out my hotel is just two blocks from Boston's Chinatown...

I could actually just go from storefront to storefront, bakery to bakery over the next couple of days and satisfy my culinary needs... And probably for about $6-8 a day.

Hmmm...

No, we are in South Austin.

I'm wondering if some student wanted more time to turn in a paper...or wanted to avoid taking a test.

Sounds like me. (In needing the extra time, that is.)

It's in the low to mid-70s here today, thanks to a much-needed rain.

Great photos. That looks like the caterpillars  that ate most of the parsley. Haven't seen them lately, but the parsley is coming back.

From DR Jose:
Quote
Well... There is such a thing as "Kosher shrimp".

That won't help the taste, or a possible allergy reaction, and it won't make it vegetarian. ;)
Well, you could stuff it with faux shrimp-flavored tofu. I have bacon salt that's vegan, so I guess anything's possible.

I'm sure your caterpillars are butterflies by now. They only are in the cat stage a couple of weeks. Glad your parsley is growing back.  (You had black swallowtail cats - my photos are monarchs.)

Here is a black swallowtail cat eating dill in a thrilling video called "Caterpillar Eating Dill."

Finished watching the fantasy ghost movie JAL MAHAL, which turned out to have neither fantasy nor ghosts...it was did have a bit of mystery to it and a nifty ending, but it was not certainly not a horror film, or even a thriller.

The lead actress, Rekha, was quite pretty. She was a big star in the 70s and 80s.

30 some years later, she still looks great!
