Iy was a horrible trip back from the East Side: rain, horrible traffic trying to get to the 59th Street Bridge, so the trip from 53rd to 59th took forever. After that it was smooth sailing to 72nd, when an insane man got on the bus and sat down next to me. He was offendedthat I got up at the next stop and 79th Street could not arrive fast enough. The crosstown 79th Street bus was packed, but I am home, the Man From Philadelpha has not sent a check yet and that's not good news.

MAN WITH A LOAD OF MISCHIEF was quite wonderful, and I enjoyed it immensely. The production had the original 3-piece orchestration and the cast was quite good.

Current Oakland temperature is Fahrenheit 96 degrees.

That's 10 degrees hotter than was forecast.

This started affecting us on Sunday...and it was pretty warm yesterday.  Today is the hottest day that is expected.

A major cool-down is expected to start tonight/tomorrow.

I guess we're lucky it's only in the 70's today, but humid.

Went and had a bacon cheeseburger and no fries, and then picked up some packages, did some banking.  One of the packages contained Le Cortex de la Planete X CD from Canada - in French.  I listened to it and it's really fun.  Now I'm listening to a new master that should make any number of people happy.  It's a two CD set - all scores by one composer - one score basically complete (only under fifteen minutes ever available before) - a reissue of another score, but remixed and sounding better, with a couple of unreleased cues added, and finally a never before released score.

Sounds exciting, BK!

Air Conditioner will be fixed on Monday.  Everything is covered under warranty.  Seems to be working now, but we'll see how it holds up.

I got home from Dayton about 4pm, the proud owner of some non-alcoholic sparkling grape juice, a spray mist Chanel No. 5, and some new black jeans.  Richard and I just returned from our local Skyline where we had chili for dinner.

TOD:  I like your basic hot dog with mustard. Never ketchup.  I do like them with relish too.  Mustard and relish.  I grew up eating a Cincinnati brand, Kahn's...known as "the weiner the world awaited!"  But being from Cincinnati, it is the coney that is the perfect hot dog.  Hot dog, mustard, slathered in diced onions, saturated in Chili (a special Greek style that because of its soupy consistency is really only good as a topping over hot dogs or spaghetti) and heaped with shredded Cheddar cheese.  The debate goes on in Cincinnati which is better...Gold Star Chili coneys or Skyline Chili coneys.  Both are fine (though of the two, I prefer Gold Star), but the best of the many chili parlours serving coneys is, for my money,  Dixie Chili in Newport, Kentucky, right over the Ohio River from downtown Cincy.

TOD - hot dogs fell from my diet in August 2010, but I did have one last October in the Frankfurt train station when we were traveling from Paris to Nuremberg.  It was wunderbar!

Or is everyone at home watching "Night of the Living Dead" on Blu-ray disc?

As many times as I've been in Skylines and Gold Stars, I never even gave a glance to anything except the 5-Ways.  So, next time, my usual 5-Way PLUS a Coney.

Our weatherman just said that there is still no rain expected in the next ten days.  We already had the driest August and September on record.

Can we even say what it is here?  Isn't this a family site?

Four-way bean for us, mine with the cheese on the side.  I use less than half of what they'd pile on.

Would you like to know how hot it was in the Valley yesterday?  108 degrees.  In October.
