Post deleted (I'm sure it was about elmore and his obstinate refusal to either watch Outside the Box's premiere or post about it - that's our elmore).  :)  Kidding elmore, sort of.

Apologies for mundane snapshot:

I wish I'd had time to drive around there at night and take some decent pictures.  I was so impressed with the lovely Studio City, more than ever before.  It was always a neat place, but I never quite properly appreciated it back in the day.  Anyhoo, I thought Ventura Blvd. was absolutely great at night, and Art's (and Du-par's, and more) look extra fine when lit up.  A beautiful place, BK.

We have no good delis here, either. They open and close too quickly. But they aren't good to begin with, so it's no great loss to the dining scene.

At work, I have been working for the last few months on copy to go with various ways you can buy McAfee Spyware through USAA at a great price. Even bought it for my laptop.

Now, there's a story on Huffington Post that the owner of the company is wanted for murder in Belize.

The only deli in the area that I know about is Oskar's Deli, a German delicatessen.

My ear popped today after about six weeks of needing to pop. It was glorious.
I bet!

Thanks for the vibes & prayers. Mom still has a few more weeks/appointments to go.
And grandparents are as well as can be expected. Over all, a good day.

Well, I've finished watching all 14 episodes of "Firefly."  Great show!

Too bad it didn't last longer than it did. :(

It got very Jewish in my car a couple months ago, when I found "You Don't Have To Be Jewish" & "When You're In Love, The Whole World Is Jewish" together on CD at the 99 Cents Store. I didn't realize that's where "The Battle of Irving" was from. Hoo boy!

I was starving earlier, ate, am full now, but it was a completely unsatisfying meal.  My own fault.  I simply chose wrong.  Where was my judgement?  Don't you HATE IT when that happens?

YES I DO!!!

Off to take Mother to an appointment (hopefully her last one post-surgery) & then to visit with my grandparents.
It's a bummer to think about, but this will either be our last Thanksgiving with Grandpa, or our first without him. I feel blessed to have had him be such an integral part of my life & have been slowly coming to terms with his mortality since he was approved for hospice care a few months ago.

Singingnymph my good wishes and hugs to you regarding your grandfather.  The hardest part of living is learning to deal with dying.

Just watched Dancing With the Stars. Two will be eliminated tomorrow. Which will be tough, since to me 5 of the 7 are excellent.

I still have my original LP of that, and "Irving" is indeed the thing I've most remembered over the years.

Oh that cake sounds amazing! Cake vibes, Jane!

Thanks.  I hope it is.

Is this cake a trial run, or are you serving this to company?

TOD:

Earlier I listed a song that I now notice has a different name on a different record: Santa Took the Subway
A few other suggestions:

Three Wishes for Christmas
All Those Christmas Cliches
Fats Waller's Swingin' Them Jingle Bells

I'm packing for my flight to Madrid, Spain later today and where I'm sure the weather will be better than it is here. I usually fly British Airways but for a change I'm using a budget airline but paying a bit more for a better seat.

SAFE & EASY TRAVELS!

I wish I was going to warm Spain.  I've never been there.

Well I've never been to Spain,  but I kinda like the music

Have you been to Oklahoma?

I had lunch in the airport restaurant and on the plane had a bacon baguette -not because I needed it but I like eating on planes to pass the time.

You must be getting better airplane food than I am unless you took that on the plane with you.  Is a meal included with your flight?  We have to pay extra for food these days.

I had to pay extra for it. I had to wait 10 minutes for them to "cook" it. They asked if I didn't mind waiting. Well, I wasn't going anywhere  :)
I thought you were going to Spain

Do you think I am beginning to rub off on Debby?

Yup.

Now, I'll watch the movie, but in a little while.  My sister's boyfriend is here to record a laserdisc to DVD since he doesn't have a laserdisc player and I do.

My Papa's  ham casserole recipe

Egg noodles, cook al dente, drain, toss with butter,

take quart of sour cream reserve a 1/8 cup - mix and egg into the quart, mix in with the egg noodles

stir in the mince ham, put the whole thing in a well buttered casserole dish

top with sour cream (like icing)  sprinkle with seasoned breadcrumbs and paprika  dot with butter

bake at 400 until brown and bubbly

serve with more sour cream on the side

you can always add broccoli or asparagus if you like but we like it plain

it si also wonderful fried up the next day with a couple of eggs

Did Papa have a dairy farm?

Page three?  But you know what - I don't care now that dear reader Sandra is back with popped ear!

That is probably why Sandra has not posted is six weeks. She couldn't hear what we were typing.

We got to the place early, so we strolled around the mall; stopped into a pet store.

Met a very friendly cat that wanted us to take him home.

 :)

Not sure if I ready to give my heart to another pet yet.
