THE BAGEL PART

Well, you've read the notes, the notes were bagel-like, and now it is time for you to post until the cows come home - they're off trying to figure out the meaning of water bagels.

I'm packing for my flight to Madrid, Spain later today and where I'm sure the weather will be better than it is here. I usually fly British Airways but for a change I'm using a budget airline but paying a bit more for a better seat.

Good morning, all!

I slept well, and I have a few errands to run before I get to Toyland. I believe that one of the buyers from the last McGlinn auction will be stopping by to pick up his last carton of music. He's taken two huge cartons home, and this is the last one to go.  He also left his jacket hanging on the coat hanger, so I have to remind him to take that, too.

Holiday songs:
The Andrews Sisters: I'd Like To Hitch A Ride With Santa
The Dixieland Band from Santa Claus Land
Don't Wait Till The Night Before Christmas To Be Good
   Little Jack Frost, Get Lost
I've Got My Love To Keep Me Warm
Let It Snow! Let Ity Snow! Let It Snow!

Can't find performances of Dixieland or Don't Wait, though there are pictures of the sheet music for Don't Wait.

Good morning, all.

It is a Monday, and Veterans Day.  Today's high will be 63.  It's foggy now, but will be partly sunny throughout the day.  I have neither bagels nor pancakes.  Isn't that sad?

Vibes to all.  They're yours.  They're free.  Use them any way you like.

I had oatmeal with a banana, walnuts and cinnamon and a cup of coffee. Of course, a bagel with scallion cream cheese would have been a treat but the oatmeal was good.

TOD:

Mele Kalikimaka
Mel Torme's Christmas version of Glow Worm
The Christmas Waltz
Run, Rudolph, Run
Santa Took the A Train

Then there are the songs on Christmas albums that are stretching it a little IMHO:
Count Your Blessings Instead of Sheep
My Favorite Things
Where Is Love?

I am enjoying the lists for the TOD, but have nothing to add at the moment.

Last night Love Is a Many Splendored Thing was on TCM.....so I watched.....I really like the movie a lot....and until I read the Kritzerland booklet I had forgotten - if I ever knew - that the two leads were NOT friendly for one reason or another.....

From my friend Natalie Douglas:
1/2 pound (2 sticks) butter, plus more for pan
1/2 cup vegetable shortening
3 cups sugar
5 eggs
3 cups all-purpose flour, plus more for pan
1/2 teaspoon fine salt
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1 cup milk
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup sugar
 1 cup brown sugar
Lemon juice
1 cup chopped walnuts
1 large bottle of preferred Vodka
2 cups dried fruit.

Sample a cup of Vodka to check quality. Take a large bowl, check the Vodka again to be sure it is of the highest quality, then Repeat. Turn Beat one cup of butter in a large bowl of the electric mixer.
Add 1 teaspoon of sugar. Beat again. At this point, it is best to make sure the Vodka is still OK. Try another cup of vodka just in case. Turn off the mixerer thingy.
Break 2 eegs and add to the bowl and chuck in the cup of dried fruit. Pick the fruit up off the floor, wash it and put it in the bowl one piece at a time trying to count it. Mix on the turner.
If the fried druit getas stuck in the beaterers, just pry it loose with a drewscriver Sample the Vodka to test for tonsisticity. Next, sift 2 cups of salt, or something. Check the Vodka. Now shit shift the lemon juice and strain your nuts.
Add one table. Add a spoon of sugar, or somefink. Whatever you can find. Greash the oven. Turn the cake tin 360 degrees and try not to fall over. Don't forget to beat off the turner. Finally, throw the bowl through the window. Finish the Vodka and wipe the counter with the cat

Monday morning greetings!  It's cold and rainy here in SW Ohio, not great for the Veterans Day commemorations in which Richard is participating with the Honor Guard.  While he's away, I have to wrap his birthday present and get my act together for our low-key celebration of that occasion tomorrow.

Should be fun.

re: last night's THE AMAZING RACE SPOILERS

I said last night that two teams really shocked me. Firstly, I feel bad when a team loses money or passports. I feel especially bad when said items accidently fall out of their possession while they are doing something. But to leave your passport in your bag in a taxi. Come on. Have some common sense. Would any traveller anywhere do this?? You should always have your passport and money in a pack on your body. To me this is ridiculous. Although why would the taxi driver leave with their stuff before getting paid?  The second team that shocked me was Abby/Ryan (the team going for 2 million dollars). They have always come across as wanting to win at all costs. I thought it was nice that after missing their flight with the other team that both teams decided to do the tasks together.  But what the heck? They finish their sychronized swimming task and the other team cannot do it. But they are waiting for them? This is for 2 million dollars. Not that many teams left. I don't even understand why that other team isn't telling them to go on. Very odd. So what are they planning to do? Arrive at the finish line at the exact same moment? What would Phil even do?

Good morning.  Thanks for the vibes.  The situation seems to be working itself out little by little without me having to do much.  Said singer is feeling the guilt and remorse of his actions.  Usually, I'd forgive and forget.  However, when someone says "I don't trust you anymore" - I feel that's an attack on my character, and that is the worst thing someone can do, IMHO.

That's how I feel about my colleague attacking me with the "who the f#@k are you" emails; I could have forgiven him until his attacks become personal.
