Dr Jennifer, I'm fine with the final DWS teams.  Mom likes Shawn and Derek the best now.

It felt like the weight of the world was off my shoulders.  I've been so stressed out lately that I need the time here to just clean house, do some writing for work and just hang with the cats.  I may see a movie or two....I have a party to go to Wednesday night and two separate wedding receptions if I want to, one for a friends' kids (I don't know them so probably won't go) and one for a client who we helped his bride come to the country legally to marry him.   I may go to that one.   Anyway, this year, unlike a few years ago, I am thrilled to be able to be home on thanksgiving

Enjoy your holiday weekend at home.

I heard that the neighbor had a massive stroke.

Not sure what to wish for her, I suppose only that she can live a good life after this.

I know. I know how I would feel about being 80+ and having a massive stroke.

Tuesday afternoon greetings!  We had to be in Dayton at 11 this morning for Richard's first post-op appointment with the podiatrist who operated on his foot.  We saw her handiwork for the first time when the heavy bandaging was removed and it looks great.  His foot was rebandaged and we will return a week from today for the stitches to come out.  I also had an appointment for her to look at my - ahem - funky toenail.  She gave sold me some medication to use on it and told me to come back in March.

Great news for Richard.  How are your feet after all this time?

DR Jane, the left foot that I had operated on 4+ years ago is fine, but it will be a long, long time before I'll consider having anything done to the right.  If ever.

The doctor sent a prescription to our pharmacy and it's ready to be picked up.  Off to Kroger - pray for Rosemary's baby...

VIBES THE MEDICATION WORKS!!!

No biggie, DR Jane.  Richard's toe was a little redder than she expected and she prescribed an antibiotic to ward off infection.

It's funny how most of us are repulsed at the idea of eating brains but will ask for a second helping of the rump roast.

Have you ever tasted brains?  Yuck. Give me a rump roast anytime.  And that is not the same as eating horse anus like they made them do on nasty FEAR FACTOR.

Signing off for the night to watch Rizzoli & Isles - a rerun of the season finale.  New episodes begin next Tuesday.  I have a LOT to do tomorrow, but will be home all day and will post when I take breaks from cleaning & decorating for Thanksgiving.

'night!

I guess I can spill the beans now:  After four years of trying to make it viable, we'll finally be issuing the cast album of A Time for Singing on CD.  We'd actually worked out a deal that made sense three months ago, but I insisted that Rhino get amazon and other online dealers who were offering a bootleg LP transfer as downloads or CD-Rs to pull the title, which has now happened.  So, it's onward now.  It's not a short process with Rhino, but look for this around February.

I am assuming we are not talking about the RIFLEMAN episode of the same name?

Did you tell him that if you could March, you wouldn't have to come back!

Indeed, a very nice looking young man!

Survived my Tuesday-before-Thanksgiving unplanned trip to Kroger, but I don't care to make another one on Wednesday.

Oh, now I understand!  Thanksgiving dinner shoppers.  I couldn't figure out why I was praying for Rosemary's Baby.

DRs MBarnum and Jrand62, if the Barnes and Noble gods smile upon me and the creek don't rise, I'll have the SHOCHIKU set in my hands tomorrow afternoon.  And not through the mail -- I happily go brick-&-mortar on these things.

Thank you DR MBARNUM, DR CHAS SMITH, and DR ELMORE.

At the end of the show, there were several slides of people hanging that were projected on the scrim behind the gallows....it was most effective.

Nice pics DR Jrand.  The slide show sounds good.

I have a cooking question for John G:

Dear John G.,
I have some sage growing in the backyard. Can I use fresh sage in my turkey stuffing?

I also have some that I dried. I know that the store-bought stuff is called "rubbed sage." What would I do to make the dried stuff "rubbed?"

Thank you all for keeping Mae Belle in your thoughts and prayers. She is the fifth death we've had in our congregation this year. And we have a small congregation to start with.
