Has anyone here heard the story about the cross-eyed bear?

John G., you had these on your dill/parsley/fennel:

The ones I posted yesterday were monarchs on milkweed.
I do see the difference. Thank you.

Day 2 of the indoctrination orientation went well. We got to watch the company meeting, during which the rest of the staff (the folks who have been here longer) heard about their Christmas bonus (two additional weeks of pay).

We also got to eat (I only tasted) an MRE, or Meal Ready to Eat, which is what the troops eat in the field. It was rather nasty and although it had a ton of sodium in it (yes, they come with nutritional breakdowns), the lack of salt was all too evident. Ours was chicken with black beans and rice with a too-dry chocolate chip cookie and a brown sugar pop tart with peanut butter and crackers.

I am more impressed with our men and women who defend our country if this is what we give them to eat.

My retaliation, I guess, was to make a vegan dinner, a carrot and zucchini salad with cilantro, orange juice, toasted pumpkin seeds and sesame seeds. Really lively and fun.

I thought they had killed the dill (not a sequel to "Kill Bill," either volume), but the stems have remained green. I keep watering it. I have hope.

Well, they are hungry critters. One thing you can always do is move them to another plant. They will eat parsley, dill, fennel, and rue. I had one that I moved from fennel (when I ran out) to a dill. He later wandered over to a parsley plant before he left to become a chrysalis. I still haven't found it.
