I saw "Cache." It had a great idea, great actors and just didn't make it for me, especially the end.

Got to judge a burger competition today, which was fun because all of the entries were good. It made judging hard. It came down to a finely ground Kobe burger (as we found out later) with blue cheese on top with a grainy bun vs. a coarsely ground burger with sriracha sauce adding spice plus some black pepper, a little garlic salt and a nice slab of cheddar on buttered toast. The latter won after some good discussion.

Then we went to a nearby Hill Country resort where they were playing up the holidays big time. Got to decorate a gingerbread man and we watched the skaters on the outdoor rink that had been set up and drank the best hot chocolate I've had in years, all molten chocolate and heavy cream.

Wishing the nicest of natal days to the perennial youthful and svelte Bruce.
Today we celebrated your birthday in our new Upper West Side apartment with a birthday party for our Adelaide who turned one about ten days ago.

If only I could remember how to post a photo, I would.

I tried with Chanukah stars on their heads.

I tried with Christmas hats.

I think I have some that are workable. Thank goodness!

:)

It sounds like a wonderful gift.

OMG, DRs Jose and Noel! Quelle surprise!

And the libretto is finished. I'm glad it's off my to-do list.

I am exhausted, and I will be heading for bed shortly.

Just watched White Christmas while rolling out something Mom calls Melting Moments, a butter cookie rolled in coconut.

Back from a three-mile jog.  Not bad for a sixty-five year-old Jew.

I would be happy to do a three-step jog.

Well, they could have been a coconut-hazelnut cookie, which would have made them even worse in your book, right?  ;)

Welcome back, DR TCB!  Hope yesterday was something fun and that you have a few days to recover.

Yes it was fun.  And I really need a couple of days to recover.  I can barely move today.

I went on my longest outing yesterday, that I havegone on in over a year,  Ten in the morning to ten in the evening.  And it proved one thing to me.

(I have not fully recovered)

That was too long DR TCB.  I hope you had fun.

Yes I did.

TCB, you didn't really expect to hold up for a full day, did you? That is a lot to expect. I hope you can gradually do more and more--comfortably.

The twelve hour event was not my idea, but since I didn't drive, I had very little say in the matter.
