What's at the Kennedy Center?

Cheyenne was appearing with the National Symphony Orchestra for New Year's Eve only, singing songs from the Mad Men era, with guest Nina Arianda.

Thank you, Kevin.

You're welcome, Jeanne.

I'm thinking of seeing Les Miserables tomorrow.  I like those morning showings.

I have some nice  rib steaks which have been marinating since last night and shrimp for shrimp cocktail  and crab cakes and our traditional sweet & spicy cocktail franks

Vixmom, I made a very large casserole of ham and noodles.  You are welcome to come over for some.  I don't think Vixdad or the Vixter would like it, because I added chopped onion.

I gave some friends a copy of season 1 of DOC MARTIN for Christmas. I knew one of them would like it, but wasn't sure about the other. They both loved it. When I first saw it I enjoyed it, but didn't think it'd have universal appeal. Apparently it does. I've been watching it again. I think it's brilliant.

Ginny left - she and elmore are probably playing Parcheesi.

Nope, just lost my Internet for a bit.

BK, you have a double working at Barnes & Noble in West Chester, OH.  He helped me with a return today and took my order for a nonfat vanilla latte.

Nope!

Too bad. I do miss it.

You lived here?

Yes, I lived in Alexandria for about twenty years. I think I had returned to California just before you joined HHW.

How about that!  I used to live in the Landmark area, but I guess that's considered the West End.

Had to write a long e-mail response to Juliana Hansen about her CD packaging.  She had photos taken and when I saw the packaging (the designer had already told me the photos just weren't good), I pulled the plug on the release until new photos can be taken.  She doesn't see it - all she sees is she wants it fast.  I don't care about fast.  That's how she wanted her act and I don't do fast in regards to acts either.  I do things right.  And right, unfortunately, when Kritzerland is involved, means the photos have to express what the listener can expect.  A perfect example of great photos and a great package that perfectly expresses the CD within is the East Coast Singer's Christmas album.  My job is to protect her and have this be a professional-looking package that we can all be proud of.  Then it actually serves a purpose other than having something for her to sell at the concerts she occasionally does.  Hopefully, in the end, she'll thank me for caring and doing what needs to be done.

Yes, people still play Parcheesi - they wear chapeau's when playing and they eat fish sticks.  It's very cozy.

Not in the slightest.  He never cracked a smile.  BK is much funnier.

I'm coming to your house. If I start walking now, I might make by New Year's 2014.

I'm going to DR Matthew's.  But I'll stop at DR vixmom's for a snack on the way.

What is DR Matthew serving?

In less than thirty minutes it is time for the East Coast balls to drop.  But New Year is not official until midnight our time here in the City of Studio, when the big balls drop.  In less than three hours I shall go into the bedroom, turn off the lights, shut the door, and do my contemplation.  And then we shall count down to midnight when our collective balls will drop, which is not an image I like at my age.

One thing I was surprised about when I moved to Virginia is that there are independent cities that are not part of a county.  For example, Alexandria and Falls Church are cities that are not in a county.  Arlington is a county.  Then there's Fairfax City, which is not part of Fairfax County.

Fascinating, huh?
