Oh, I have a dream to report, obviously based on BK's experience with the HELLO, DOLLY! in Washington DC:

I go to see that production, and it's about to begin.  But it's not in Ford's Theatre.  I'm someplace in south Florida on a business trip or something, and this is not the brown DOLLY, but the aqua blue DOLLY.  The conductor starts the proceedings, and they've created an extended, and very bizarre, vamp-like introduction with various antics.  I never do get to see any of it, because I woke before they got through their silly (or stupid) business.  There was also a little more about the Florida venue.

BK interesting alarm story. Most of the alarms here are not silent ones. So when you open your door without turning it off the alarm blares. I like the idea of having the alarm on all night. But did you say that you leave your back door unlocked while you jog???

I've just contacted another baritone, Zachary Prince, and we'll see what happens next.

Greetings from Toyland!

DR CHAS SMITH - the Dream-O-Matic 6000 says that your dream indicates that you would like to add more of your own musical style to your playing in the pit, but that you feel duty bound to follow the director's ideas - even if you do not agree.  However, you would rather be involved in a production, than see it from the audience.

TOD

Blu-ray - THE SONG OF BERNADETTE

DVD (rental) - SUMMERTIME. Surprisingly, I'd not seen this David Lean film before. I think Lean's main intention must have been to make a travelogue - great photography of Venice but I found the non-plot to be a total bore!

Sad to hear about Richard Griffiths - yes he was most excellent in THE HISTORY BOYS.....and in an episode of Matt LeBlanc's tv series EPISODES.

From yesterday:

In other news - this is what we're thinking about - Grant really loves it - he normally does the covers - the idea is his, but the execution is Doug Haverty.

That's a great cover, BK!

I loathe The Office. I work in an office with a mix of smart and nice and stupid and smarmy people. Why would I want to come home and watch the same kind of s**t on television after living through it 5 days a week for the past 21.5 years.
Bless you. I've wondered the same thing myself on more than one occasion. And I've only seen the British version, which is hysterically funny but so clammy and close to reality that I can't watch it.

So you can imagine what the musical version was like.

Good morning, all.

Busy morning so far. But thankfully not as irritating as yesterday was.

TOD:

Car CD: Parade's End

Home CD: 110 in the Shade

DVD: Don't know if I'll have time to watch anything, but I do have Seven Psychopaths. A real Easter treat, I would imagine.

When it comes to the Easter holiday, I am so apathetic. Seven Psychopaths sounds like a great Good Friday movie!

We have no plans for Easter. We may go out for dinner at the last moment but no other plans. My sister in Minnesota works for a devoutly Catholic man so they will close early today for Good Friday.

Good Friday services are my favorite of the 4 days.  The music, the ritual... it's pretty great.  Somehow, "Will I" from "Rent" made it into a meditation on one of the Stations of the Cross, as did "He Ain't Heavy, He's My Brother".... that's how we roll :)

I'm not familiar with this site, but it must be a cousin of The Onion. Still, the story is pretty darn funny.

Did anyone notice either interpolation?

I love traditional Good Friday music. Even more than Easter music.

The Hofstetter book cover looks wonderful, BK.

One of these days I will gather up and read all of the Hofstetter books. So far I have only read the first one, which I loved.

Had a lovely chat with Laurie Mitchell (star of QUEEN OF OUTER SPACE) and she had her hubby Ron are now settled in their new hom in Murrietta, California.

For those in the mid-west, she will be attending the annual Superman celebration held in Metropolis, Illinois in June. She is quite excited! One of my other interviewees has been invited, and will hopefully attend as well.

DVR:
From TCM I recorded the 1930 Rogers and Hart musical SPRING IS HERE and  the 1954 western ARROW IN THE DUST (featuring Sterling Hayden, Coleen Gray, and Keith Larsen).

(I have come the conclusion that Sterling Hayden was not much of an actor..or at least he wasn't in this movie)

400?!

Well, considering I have some 2800 titles in my "file" (spread across DVD, BLU and laserdisc), I suppose finding out that 400 of those are horror isn't exactly an improbability.  It's just hard to picture.  And my stuff is all in shelves, arranged by various directors, categories, etc. that are meaningful to me.  So, hard to tell.
