Well, you've read the notes, the notes said hello and talked about Dolly, and now it is time for you to post until the cows come home - they're currently singing It Only Takes a MOOment.

Good morning, all! I was asleep by 9:00pm, and I slept until the neighbor noisily arrived home with girlfriend around 11, at which point I gave up on sleep for a couple of hours.

I will shortly head down to Toyland to being proofing the Act Two scores. I should be able to get through a large number of them this morning. My singer who was coming in this morning called ad postponed until tomorrow, and I've got one oter singer I'd like to hear. At this point, it's going to be less about how well either sings, since  both sing quite well, and more about how well they handle the spoken dialogue.

Good morning, all.

Had to get up a bit early this morning to be ready for the furnace people who are to arrive between 7:30 and noon.

Got a bit of a second wind last night and stayed up way too late, but slept decently enough and feel pretty good.

This afternoon I'm joining a couple of members of Home Theater Forum at the house of one where we've enjoyed a few very satisfying movie nights over the past several months.

BK:  He has the Panasonic projector they were using at the Marriott last fall.

His screen is a 12-foot home-built job that, to my eyes, provides a spectacular picture.  Speakers and surround system are excellent, and the seating (comfortable recliners on home-built risers) is wonderful.  Best of all (to my taste), it's not something Architectural Digest will be out to do a spread on any time soon.  Actually, not ever.  Nothing fancy, just the family room of his raised ranch completely blacked out and completely dedicated to film, with shelving for his BLU/DVD/LD collection, and posters, on every available inch of three walls.  Just great equipment, a great collection, and total comfort.  On my first visit, I was committed to someday having my own projection setup -- something I hadn't been very interested or curious about before.  You gotta see it to believe how incredible it can be.

So, today's double feature:  the new UK Blu-ray of (HORROR OF) DRACULA, and what is apparently a 3D spectacular, A TURTLE TALE: SAMMY'S ADVENTURES.

That sounds like a great afternooon DR ChasSmith! And what a fantastic double-bill. You can't have a greater contrast than DRACULA (which I intend to get) and A TURTLE'S TALE (the 3D in that is certainly spectacular) ;D

It's still bitterly cold with possible snow showers later. Is this January or April?

And they're outta here.  Ignition transformer and nozzle replaced, parts and labor covered under maintenance agreement.  They can't be positive it won't still happen again, since the problem was intermittent, but these are always the likely culprits and it probably won't.  I can now move on with my day.  Which initially means sitting here a while longer and drinking more coffee.

I think your friend should also show ATTACK OF THE 50 FOOT WOMAN this afternoon DR CHAS SMITH.  It's only 68 minutes.

Wednesday morning greetings!  I'm home all day to putter and get ready to meet my friend Suellyn at Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park to see The Book Club Play.  Should be a lot of fun, because Suellyn was one of the original members of my book group.  She still reads along with us, but doesn't attend regularly because she lives in Cincinnati now.

BARGAIN DAY!

I don't know why they are doing this, since the book is less than a week old, but Amazon has discounted my THE HOLLYWOOD LEGENDS anthology from $24.95 to $19.11.

I have no idea how long this discount will last, so if you were thinking of ordering the book (with its 10 plays about 11 fabulous people), this might be the time.

Thirty-nine years ago today, a series of seven or so tornadoes swept through Louisville, ripping trees up from the ground and tearing houses apart. We spent the day in the basement, riding out the storm.

Nothing happened in our neighborhood, but I later had a classmate over to work on a school project and all he wanted to do was walk down the street because it was so tree-lined and his own neighborhood had been stripped bare.

Right now, the sky is black as night overhead with a glimmer of light on the horizon to the southwest. A storm is sitting on top of us, but yet everything is oddly quiet. Lightning is flashing occasionally. And there's a greenish tinge to the light, which is said to be associated with tornadoes. Hope this isn't a repeat of 40 years ago.
