Well I found some just brought over from Target brand new Gibson Fine China in a very nice color.....six dinner plates, six salad plates, and six mugs and got them all for $13 with an additional 10% off with my Goodwill Rewards card.  And I got two bar stools, very nice ones for $9 each for my sister....again 10% off.

Then I pushed my cart around the corner and there was a Vizio 22"  flat screen HD TV......I put it in my cart drove it to the end of the aisle and plugged it in....came right up.  No remote....but i came home and plugged in my mother's Comcast Box, fixed the Comcast remote to work the Vizio, did a channel scan....and now she has HDTV.....$40 less the 10% discount....

There were a couple of clips of Ms Midler's Broadway triumph that looked pretty grim and.....well....it might be a long night.....like when someone memorizes a poem and tries to repeat it as quickly as possible so it won't be forgotten....

Had a busy, but nice weekend and am now catching up with HHW posts...I see I missed some celebrations!
There are no details in that description. What occupied your time?

Well, took my 5 year old nephew to see the CROODS. Then he chose, instead of going for ice cream (!), to have me take him to Best Buy so that he could look at all of the electronical games.

The remainder of the weekend was full of chores and watching a few movies and working on some projects.

TOD:

I have thought all day, but come up with nothing. There are certainly a lot of collectables that I would enjoy having, but nothing that tops them all. At least not that I can think of, just now.

Speaking of collectibles, does anyone remember watching the tv show PERSONAL FX which played on the FX Channel back in the mid 90s....I was so addicted to this program! It was live and you could bid on collectibles that were brought in for "experts" to appraise and they would have special guest show would show their collections.

Unfortunately this is also the case with me.....but as my earlier post proves.....it doesn't stop me from buying.  I think MR BK's collectible choice is a fine investment.....

What would interest me most, I think, is getting a true and fair $$ estimate on the junk....I mean....rare items....that I already have.

Well, I am off.  My cousin is up again for a follow-up job interview!  They came up a couple of weeks ago for his first interview.  They're staying at my sister's, so that's where I'm going.

Until later!

DR Ginny I finished section two of BEST FRIENDS.  I liked the first section but am kind of tired of these people at this point.

I'm off to read so I can finish this book sooner than later.

DR Jane, Martha Moody's first 3 books are very character-oriented and, yes, they can become quite tiresome.  I'm looking forward to reading the newest one, which sounds like it might have some actual plot.

DR DRUXY sometimes when people read about Carole's passing in January, 1942, they think it was in the middle of the war - but actually it was only FIVE WEEKS after Pearl Harbor!

Ft. Wayne is full of Peters families....and you know she had two brothers, so there may be some great nieces or nephews running around town....

Carole was killed about a little over a month before my first birthday.

In fact, the premiere performance of LOMBARD was on the 50th anniversary of her death in Burbank, CA.

I know that both of the brothers came to Los Angeles with her and, as far as I know, stayed there.

However, perhaps some other Peters relatives will show up the weekend I'm going to be there and introduce themselves.
