Alan Cummings always seems so pleased with himself

I saw Alan Cummings at Lincoln Center when we had our Doc Pomus NY premiere.

He was going to the film AFTER ours. I think he was in it, though, so I'll give him a pass...

SOME RANDOM THOUGHTS WHILE WATCHING THE TONYS:  1) Sometimes I feel like the last straight man in the American theatre 2)  There were so many old musical revivals, I kept waiting for The BLACK CROOK to be nominated for something 3) It's a sad statement when theatre legend set designer Ming Cho Lee's Life Time Achievement Award is reduced to a commercial seque blip 4) I kept thinking that I was just hearing the intro and kept waiting for the body of the song to begin during the KINKY BOOTS number.  People moving around on conveyor belts and shouting, "Let me hear you say yeah, yeah" ain't choreography or lyrics (but then I was rooting for Tim Minchin...a genius...and MATILDA). 5) Dear Broadway, please learn the difference between a musical theatre production and a concert. 6)Tracy Letts is a class act.

DR Cillaliz, I was happy to read that Callie's health may be okay, and I hope that continues to be the case.

Your experience with the raccoon reminded me of the night in 2008 when I discovered my apartment was infested with bedbugs. I suspect you are in for several difficult months and I wish you a huge success getting rid of them and in not losing too much money in the process.

Raccoons are easier to see

And much louder

If I went to NYC I would like to see Pippin, but not really thrilled about anything else from the show

And I love Motown songs - I just don't need to hear them in a bad musical.

Ditto!  And this cast sure as Hell can't sing or dance them as well.

First of all, the characters introductions are horrible.  A true nadir of a show that didn't need further nadirs.  But Bring It On?  If that's what musical theater is today, if that's what can get NOMINATED for Best Musical then I want out.  Horrible song, worse choreography, and does no composer, arranger, orchestrator or choreographer know what a damn rideout and button is?  And dear Mr. Director of the awards show, stop with the canned screaming, really!

I missed The Rascals performance, but I liked the band a lot when I was in Jr. HS. That show is coming here..I can get half-price tickets but it's still $40 for the cheap seats. Has anyone here seen the actual show?

I love Neil Patrick Harris.  Period.

I have absolutely no interest in seeing Matilda.  Which is sad, since I enjoyed both the book and the movie as a child.  That song was dreadful.

Jed's two cents - Another issue is that some of the shows that have been running on Broadway forever need to close and make room for new shows.  When you only get three or four new shows per season, what can you expect to really come of it?

How's come Annie's voice was booming during her solo lines but not when she was singing with everyone else?  Prerecorded.....or was DR GEORGE really quick on the microphone buttons tonight?

I do what I'm told. 8)

A fine  quality in a man, and one I personally applaud  :)

Is this edisaurus's first visit to the new board?

It is indeed! I have been spending much of my time the last few months in the hospital with my dad, so most of my internet time is on my phone. I like that you're able to embed pictures into the notes!

Although they weren't completely smoothly executed, I liked the dress transformations in "Cinderella."
