Oh, DR MBarnum.  You know you'll buy a ticket when Mr. Sondheim's next big Bollywood extravaganza opens on the Great White Way.

Someone on the Times chat box section suggested that PSYCHO would be a good idea for a musical.

I let them know that BK already did it.

Susan - Re Psycho the Musical - This short comic film by Bruce Kimmel's Outside the Box group (Brad Oscar as Norman) might scare sensitive people from showering in the middle of rehearsal halls. The joke numbers from the PSYCHO musical in rehearsal start at 2:10.

Very sad, even tragic story, DR Druxy.

I read stories like this a lot, as well, and I always wonder how accurate the reporting is...for instance, was it truly a therapy dog, or was it acutally a mean, gnarly dog and the angry citizen just wanted sympathy from the reporter (and you rarely ever read an update).

There are always two sides to every story, and then there is the truth. Maybe it is just that I can't imagine anyone shooting a dog unless they honestly felt their life or someone elses life is in danger. On the other hand, it is certainly possible that some officers aren't as upstanding as I expect them to be.

Very, very sad either way. And if it ever turned out that the officer had no real reason to kill the animal, then I would throw the book at him/her!!

His next...did I miss his first? Or are you just pulling my leg, DR SteepleJack?

She moved a little slower and maybe was lip-synching but so what.

I give her credit for doing it.

The last weekend of this month is Salem's World Beat Festival. I recently joined the India-US Friendship: Salem Division group and they have asked me to help them out with their booth...this year's theme for the group is: Bollywood! (2013 is the 100 year anniversary of Indian cinema.)

Attended my first meeting last night with Dikshant and Kahtyia and have another meeting next Tuesday with the board of directors. I am looking very forward!

In other entertainment news, I see that the old tv series RIPCORD is now out on DVD! Why I never heard any announcement of this fact, is a mystery!

BLACKENSTEIN is now available for your viewing pleasure.

I wonder, though, if "pleasure" is quite the right word.  :)

TOD:  My first encounter with Sondheim was his lyrics for "Gypsy", a movie I saw in 1962 in a theater.  Then came "West Side Story", on the LP album (I didn't see the film until decades later), with his lyrics.

My first encounter with music AND lyrics was the movie of "A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum."

The next, and most dramatic, encounter was the cast album to "Follies".  Played it and played it and played it and played it.  Next came "A Little Night Music", which I love more than anything.  Subsequently, I acquired all things Sondheim.  He's who I turn to when I need an emotional jolt!

Apparently, it is well nigh impossible to put the new board into "Widescreen."    ;D

Greetings from Toyland! I have been to Pearl Art Supply and purchased the tape. My colleague Curtis sent me the tracking number for the paper; it will arrive tomorrow. I've dropped the vocal score at Kinko's for 5 more copies to be run off, and I believe that's all I will accomplish here today.

My goddaughter's mother, who has apparently dropped me as a friend along with her husband, is the first voice you hear on the OBC of COMPANY. In the Making of documentary, she's in a purple minidress. I'm weeping no more over the two of them.

She will come crawling back....

Lupone Piano Mishap

Quote
A piano malfunction twice threatened to derail Broadway star Patti LuPone’s show last night at the  Leicester Square Theatre. When the piano pedal stuck after her opening number, Don’t Rain on My Parade, Patti moved into chat mode as technicians stripped the baby grand on stage in front of 400 fans.

After the problem appeared to be fixed, the piano made it through one more number before Patti called for an interval and a second piano was hauled onto the stage. My man in the stalls said: “It didn’t seem to throw her. She got three standing ovations.” A replacement baby grand is due on stage tonight. Let’s hope it behaves.

I am thinking that DR FJL could have a ball with this one!   :)

Don't you hate it when that happens! Just like Room 222...two seasons, then zilch!

Write to Shout! Factor. Perhaps they will continue it. I should do the same. I think they have a Facebook page
